Re: FVoxel guy from 20 years ago releases old level

Are there any screenshots or videos of the FVoxels in action? The links in the old thread seem to be dead. Obviously we have much better tech today, but I love hacky old tech and I'm curious to see what it looked like in practice. 8-) I dug around and found the original FVoxel demo wad. Here's some ...

FVoxel guy from 20 years ago releases old level

A long, long time ago, I was a regular here, during the days of ZDoom 2.0.9x, stacked sectors, teleport-based fake 3d floors before GZDoom existed, etc... This was my first thread, introducing this silly fake-voxel technique, and I guess I would have been 18 at the time. I swear I remember posting a ...

Also, Even the demo map that I got from wiki has floor and ceiling differences for the lower and upper sectors. You only see a HOM if you go to the lower sector and look up at the bridges. it ...

you have to divide the returned angle by 65536 to get the correct one. that's if it's a standard angle (0-360) - if it's a byte angle then you use some formula that I forget and someone else could probably tell you.

Because the detail, by all accounts of those that ah "tested" the "unintentional release" hindered movement, manuverability, and sight in some areas. And when you can't move round properly because of eye candy you have too much detail, its as simple as that. fair enough. just wanted to know. :)

Just so you all know, a good portion of the team finally figured out that gameplay is extremly important. A lot of the over-fancy details have been removed for the sake of gameplay. So don't complain when it doesn't have OMG UB3R-1337 D374I1 everywhere like we touted so much.[/code] how will ...

i can attest that MMORPGs are the devil incarnate. i played one once, and it wasn't even very good looking nor advanced, but it was addictive as crap. I quit like 3 times before actually quitting..yeesh.. i will never again play one, i fear for my safety
