Re: Win11 support

BitLocker currently requires Windows Pro. If full disk encryption is so important now MS better make that available to everyone.

Win11 support

Are we going to tell Win11 users to go pound sand if MS doesn't drop TPM requirement? Graf's so anti DRM he doesn't even have a Steam account so I'm sure he will be thrilled when they start tying licenses to TPM keys.

Re: Vintage computing for fun and [no] profit

X86 video BIOS probably going to stop any GPU from working. PPC Macs needed their own video cards or you had to blind flash them.

Re: Corona consequences

The theory is conservative voters will see the value of safety nets and move left, but these are the same people that are oblivious when they are them so I understand your pessimism.

That one is on SCOTUS. You did well voting blue despite only 5 polling places in Milwaukee.

If you want people to play in your sandbox you have to be nice or a Finnish kernel developer.

Intel Compiler is now free

A free 90 day renewable license. Includes VTune too.
It doesn't like GZ's math library. Complains about division by zero. Can be worked around by undefing INFINITIES, NANS & MINUSZERO but it crashes shortly after starting. Software render is faster by 10% on the opening of Entryway though.

Show me a real wad which uses jpeg.
I haven't seen any such wad, so I don't see any sense in Independent JPEG.

Re: So, I'm finally building a PC..

New Xbox is only 12GB so game RAM requirements shouldn't be ballooning anytime soon.
Can probably ditch the DVD drive.

You can link with "/NODEFAULTLIB:libucrt.lib ucrt.lib" to dynamic link to the UCRT and static link the VC bits. WannaCry took care of any PCs that haven't run Windows Update.
Or use GCC and link to þe olde msvcrt. Here's a 64bit GCC7 build.
