Re: Necropolis: Voices in the Night: First public release!
Alright guys. I'm seriously freaking out. I can still get into my blog so they didn't change the password or anything. I just got an email from commissar@doc.vannol.ru with the following message: "HAHAHA, you tried to show them but it wasn't the time yet. STop We aren't what you see but we are what ...

Re: Necropolis: Voices in the Night: First public release!
This is really really weird. Something similar happened to my blog when I tried to update it and post the same link. I'm looking more into this. Can you just open the files with notepad or some other text editor?

Re: The WIP Thread
Shucks, thanks :D No need to apologize, and if you're asking if like any other weapons in the mod have guarding or parrying, only the club does. The other weapons in the mod aren't suitable for parrying (either too small or flimsy) and have their own special moves in any case, like stabbing or ...

Re: The WIP Thread
Hope you don't mind if I take that title, Heracross. :P Oh and of course due credit goes to Nash for the friction mod, many thanks for creating it. It's very useful and indeed lightweight which is helpful for the lazy inclined modder. Just for simplicity's sake I think I'm going to disable jumping ...

Re: The WIP Thread
Testing a really fun Dark Souls-esque parrying mechanic. Also you see a bit of enemy strafing in there, and yes I know the map is flat and boring but it's mainly a test of the weapon.

Re: Hitscan vs. "Projectile Bullets"
I think hitscan is a gamble of a damage system that can be outright unfair at some times (see: chaingun snipers, rooms full of zombiemen, archvile with no cover) but it can be perfectly fine if put in the correct situations. Projectile bullets, like those seen in WW-Nazis, can be pretty neat and ...

Re: The WIP Thread
Can you post the code? I'd love to see it and see how it... tics. No, seriously though. haaaaaah tics Sure thing though. It's really simple in theory. It's a one-two combo of ACS and DECORATE. Make 2 very simple dummy inventory items in DECORATE with a max of 1 each. Make a repeating linedef that ...

Re: The WIP Thread
Good point.
That static sound is more of a placeholder than anything. It was neat when I first implemented it, but yeah, not very accurate, plus it's sort of distracting to hear all the time and doesn't even fit in with the game world. Welp I have a new thing to change now.

Re: The WIP Thread
Testing a radio mechanic in my mod. Surprised how it worked out exactly how I imagined it would, given that that rarely happens with anything I do

Re: Mayhem Mansion - DING DONG WAD releasededed
Oh god this is delicious oh yes oh god give it to me all of this obscure DOS fps weirdness is so perfect I like how certain weapons are effective on certain enemies, adds a weird RPG touch to it all. Also all of the Exploding Lips resources are just the icing on the cake. Really nailed it with this ...

Re: Lasting Light V3 - Fear the Creeper!
Oh jesus, this is probably the scariest doom mod that I've played yet. Just the fact that you don't get to see the other monsters clearly leaves a lot to the imagination and my god does it make the experience all the more terrifying. Excellent work and atmosphere. The tension is just right. If I ...

Re: heart thingy need ideas...
Maybe you could make it act as like a soul reservoir, like an alt-fire would suck up corpses and the fire would use the corpse-reservoir as ammo to summon the friendly ghost of that killed monster.
