Firstly, thank you for replying to all of my observations/suggestions! Since its implied that Ettins are cursed Legionairres in the lore; it makes sense to me that some were veterans, and those guys could be dangerous and fast in armour like Baratus. I mean, sure, but... they're sooo annoying ...

I might be mistaken but I think just enabling "widescreen" on GZDoom 4.5.0 fixes those issues?

Ok, I feel I need to update this issue, for I've (kinda) solved it: I switched to OpenGL as @AndrewMRX said, and then Walpurgis and HexenHD work. I overwrote my GZDoom files over the one provided, and it all worked (albeit with many errors). However!: There seems to be some weird conflict with Walp ...

So, I tried this with Walpurgis and it crashes GZDoom when trying to load a level (like after choosing your character). Why could this be? Considering Walpurgis crashes GZDoom on it's own, I'd say the problem rests there. I can't even tell what version it's meant to be played on, the Huh, it ...

Ok, so Walpurgis has nothing to do with the crash on starting a level/game (that is: after choosing difficulty).

HexenHD crashes when loaded with GZDoom 4.5.0.

Why?
(I don't want to use your "custom" GZDoom... for reasons...)

Walpurgis actually crashes with any version of GZDoom when loaded with this HexenHD, hence my question: Why is this happening?

Walpurgis does not crash at all, on my end...
(I'm using GZDoom 4.5.0)

The ice caves look fantastic. As for the stone floors, maybe you could make them less glossy. I don't think old stone surfaces are that shiny. Wet stone walls/floors... mmmm yummy... makes me wanna lick it... Seriously, wet stone walls n' floors are fine. It's pretty much expected dungeon moistness ...
