NashGore NEXT v1.0
My arm got dislocated and I am not in the best of health. In light of this, I am releasing NashGore NEXT early as it's better to release it early than miss the previously-announced deadline. There were going to be things like release streams, after parties and other fancy stuff planned that all had ...

Re: Fizzlefade screen wipe style
Ultimately what I'd like to eventually see is the wipe system moved to shaders, so that users can easily add their own.

Re: View real time on automap
Adding a system time readout is so trivial to do, both as a mod (ZScript only) but also not much work at all to add natively in-engine to the automap. I'll probably take a look at it some time (optional feature that's initially turned off, of course) (I don't understand why this thread has 4 pages w...

Re: putpng - setpng / grabpng alternative
Oh, very nice! I am a hardcore enjoyer and user of grabpng, and while there's nothing wrong with it (still serves me well in 2024 - both in cmdline mode as well as GUI mode) -- it's good to know that there's still interest in working on custom PNG tools especially useful for GZDoom assets. It's a sh...

Re: Nash's Gore Mod: Vengeance Edition v1.01 HOTFIX
Hey Nash! I was just wondering if your excellent gore mod works with other source ports, specifically Vavoom. I'm wanting to try the Korax mod for Hexen but using melee weapons has so little punch with the default blood effects haha. If yours doesn't work with Vavoom, do you by chance know of a gor...

Re: Nash's Gore Mod: Vengeance Edition v1.01 HOTFIX
Proud to announce my collaboration with Daniel "Cheello" Peterson to create the OFFICIAL VOXEL ADD-ON for NashGore!
Also - new NashGore? It may be closer than you think (stay tuned)

Re: Quake 2 mod recommendations
Quake 2 Remaster (can get it on GOG if you hate Steam) - it contains an entirely new and canonical expansion pack called Call of the Machine, which was skillfully crafted by Machine Games.

Re: On-Screen Keyboard Improvements (AKA InputGrid)
I should also mention: Another thing I noticed, and this is weirdly specific and I honestly have no idea why it's happening: On the Steam Deck, when you summon the built-in OSK (for example, say you want to type some commands in the GZDoom console) -- typing simply does not work. You can tap the let...

On-Screen Keyboard Improvements (AKA InputGrid)
Recently got myself a Steam Deck and have been taking small steps to improve the engine's default state to be controller-friendly. While progress is good so far, one of the remaining pain points is the Input Grid (for the on screen keyboard). There are two things I think that need to be done to fix ...

Re: Darkadia [WIP]
It's not, but I'm going to focus on finishing up Disdain first (which is a much less experimental kind of game to create, so the path to completion is much more clear with Disdain). Also, engine technology moving forward, with VKDoom, will allow me to do things I wasn't able to do with GZDoom - it w...
