Re: E3 is dead.
Dude there's a viral outbreak happening around the whole planet, nobody's taking chances. I was just informed that the hotel i'm working is going to close for God knows how much time because of the covid-19. It's only natural that they are finding safe alternative solutions to the event while still ...

Re: E3 is dead.
What makes you say this? In all honesty i can see this years E3 ongoing as a livestream, as multiple other vendors have already announced as doing so. For the reporting that ill do every year, the change isn't that detrimental, but i am looking forward to see what they come up with. Because IIRC ...

E3 is dead.
E3 2020 has been cancelled due to the Coronavirus. This is the first time that E3 has ever been cancelled. And honestly, E3 has been dying for a long time now. But this year's event has officially been cancelled. I don't think it'll be coming back next year. Give E3 the rest that it deserves.

Will Google Stadia fail?
I remember when I first heard that Google was going to attempt to enter into the videogame market. I started laughing my ass off and said "This is gonna flop, I just know it!" And right now, things aren't much different. I have noticed that recently, Google has been pushing nonstop advertisements on ...

I'm not using Linux as I'm not familiar with coding at all You don't need to learn coding to use Linux, as far as Debian is concerned. The least you'll need to remember is "sudo apt-get" if you don't have one of those software stores they've been bundling with certain Debian-based distros lately.

Re: What would a second game crash be like?
For the artists it will be hard. But if the programmers leave the game would be mostly over - and programmers are in such high demand everywhere that they'd have little problems finding another job, if they are good. A (hopefully) good point for this, is that not only do companies have layoffs when ...

Re: Can a GZDoom-like engine be made for Build games?
But the render engine is only one part - when I looked at the original Duke 3D source I couldn't really believe how primitive and rough it all was - sure, it got its CON scripts but the parser for those is one of the most hackish parsers I have ever seen in production code - and the rest of the ...

What would a second game crash be like?
The 1983 video game crash of North America was an extremely important event in video game history. Not only did it pretty much ruin everybody's trust in Atari, it also brought forth then-newcomer Nintendo to the North American gaming industry, with their NES console featuring some bad-looking-but ...

Re: Can a GZDoom-like engine be made for Build games?
I have never delved too much into the technical stuff of the Build engine, but from what I have read online: 1. There isn't as much documentation on mapping for the Build engine as there is for id tech 1. And some of the documentation that does exist have a high chance of being outdated. 2. If you ...

Re: Official Oculus Rift GZ3Doom thread
Is there a way to play GZ3Doom in Oculus Rift S without using the Oculus Controllers as your weapon? I'm sorry, there's just no way I'm going to use my hand on the controller to aim the weapons while using the keyboard to shoot the weapons. And when I played DukeVR (fork of EDuke32 for Oculus), I ...

GZ3Doom stuck on pause
I tried GZ3Doom today. I couldn't even get past the menu, even when I select my difficulty and whatever. It's stuck on pause.
