Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
Hi there too! It's been a while since I've been here... B-) Here I present you also a franken-sprite update I've done recently for the Armageddon big-boss enemy sprites included in my H-Project mod, which are going to be featured in next release... https://i.imgur.com/ASAAhqw.png Yup, I wanted to ...

Re: SLADE Discussion - Latest: v3.2.7 (25/Dec/2024)
Is there anything that can be done about the procedure entry point matter? Both the 64 and 32 bit versions refuse to start over that.

Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
It is good to be cognizant of the powers you have at your disposal! And certainly better than just using the microsoft paint colors, though controlling it is an art. I started calling lack of palette control "Super VGA syndrome" after I noticed its prevalence in 256 color shareware games. The edit ...

Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
does that look better in use? it comes across as somewhat less complex here on the forum page. it does remind me of some of the edits I used to make back in some older days, when i would try to make stuff seem more clean and less uneven, and only use colors that are directly adjacent to each other ...

are you also using an outdated operating system?
any version of slade is better than wintex, fortunately.

Ohhh yes I see the difference now! I knew the mountains were new but didn't realize the ground moved.
Still I think that could work, maybe, as part of a tall sky, and the full sand part only appears below horizon level.

wxhAcARgELU jumping to 1 minute, 20 seconds and then again to two minutes, 35 seconds will show a scrap of what I have been doing lately with this there is not much new here unfortunately; much of the effort lately has been invisible, including the most substantial palette change so far that as ...

Re: Custom Texture Thread.
I like that desert scenery, even though it presumably looks creepy in use as a sky since it is mostly ground and shouldn't appear fixed in place nor above you, but sometimes creepy is good. Has anybody made a level which specifically uses the original version or a variant of it?

Re: SLADE Discussion - Latest: v3.2.7 (25/Dec/2024)
alas the new Slade version 3.2.7 gives me a "procedure entry point" error, "CreateFile2 could not be located in the dynamic link library kernel32.dll" presumably since I am using windows 7, as that seems to be the source of most of my surprise post-update non-starts these days. https://imgur.com/a ...

Re: Is there a way to add warp to custom flats?
All you need to warp something is the "WARP2 FLAT SWATER47" part at the end of animdefs. The other stuff is just telling the game what graphics comprise the flat, and what order they go in when animated. You just need to know what the flat is called, and can ignore the patch names, which are a bit ...

Re: Certain sprites not affected by PLAYPAL?
I use numerous png sprites, and have changed my paypal many times recently. Png sprites imported before the changes seem to get adapted to the newer playpal within the game, at least if they are saved in 256 color mode, and consequently can still take color translations made for a different playpal ...

Re: Ultimate Doom Builder
I don't know if it is the same thing, but I remember Ultimate Doom Builder being unable to find any sprites that i defined with path+filenames containing lowercase letters even while gzdoom had no issue. Switching them to ALL CAPITAL seemed to fix that, but alas not my habit of creating more sprite ...

fatal error text is too small for me
I just installed the version from october, apparently I had not updated since version 4-10-0 in april 2023. I did this midway through attempting to correct my latest code errors, wondering if maybe I was trying to use a feature not yet implemented in the old version, but now the text griping about ...
