Now that's quite interesting! I always loved most of the Heretic map designs, so playing through them with Doom textures and overall layout would be quite a fun experience! It could be even better if Heretic's music will be using specific MIDI instruments which would make it sound more Doom-esque ...

Aside from the hidden switch to the Morph Ball room, I think it's pretty neat overall. You could have just placed only the Charge beam, since the other beams felt a bit out of place for a prologue-like map, and some of the monsters could have been kept for the full-scaled map you're working on. For a short early beta, it was pretty enjoyable. The only issue I had is when I talk to an NPC or buy something in the fire fountain, everything freezes until I choose to close the box. Also I can't see how many coins I have when I buy something. It's weird, but I guess they can be fixed. Can't wait ...

Your description doesn't say much about the mod. Can you elaborate more on the content of your mod, if there's anything else?
Maybe add a few screenshots or a video?
