Re: [Music] Shane's HQ Doom Music (2018 Updates) [WIP] [Link

@Shane: Could you *please* fix this soundtrack so the songs loop correctly in DoomRetro? They have an extra 3-seconds at the end of each song, so they don't loop well. But since I listened to this OST, I can't play Doom or Doom II with other music! It's SO incredible! So it's a pity that they don't ...

Re: LZDoom 3.84 released

Hmm. If LZDoom didn't work, I don't know if GZDoom will, then. LZDoom is exactly the state of the code back in the day when it did work for GZDoom... But yeah, try it out and see what happens... if it doesn't work though, sorry, not much I can do, because this is not a setup I have ever used... I ...

Re: LZDoom 3.84 released

I wasn't referring to LZDoom. If you want to use that, it still supports the same backends that GZDoom 3.3 did. GZDoom 4.3 now has a SoftPoly II backend that should also support the GLES 2.0 backend (or anything else that SDL2 supports). LZDoom is here -> https://github.com/drfrag666/gzdoom/tree/g3 ...

Re: LZDoom 3.84 released

@Rachael: Great!
Is this the repository to get the master sources for lzdoom? --> https://github.com/drfrag666/gzdoom/tree/legacy

What build options should I use for SDL2 with no desktop GL? (SDL2 runs on GLES and GLES2 renderers).

Do you mean "vanilla" GZDoom 4.2.x? Will it support GLES2 again with the software renderer? :3:

Graf Zahl wrote:No, it cannot target GLES2.
AFAIK GLES 3.1 is possible but "Legacy" here means real OpenGL 2.0.
Hmm... But I dont get it. By using a software renderer, the engine itself does not depend on OpenGL. Then, let SDL2 scale using whatever SDL2 renderer it runs on, be it OpenGL or GLES2.

Re: [Music] Shane's HQ Doom Music (2018 Updates) [WIP] [Link

Absolutely! I hope to get a fixed and remixed (that is, updated to use the mix template I made for Final Doom) pack out this year! I'm sorry that this problem has bothered you for so long! :( Dont worry! Your Doom OST is so incredible! I am very thankful about it, to the point that I can not play ...

Re: LZDoom 3.84 released

Is this LZDoom version supposed to work on GNU/Linux with SDL2 using GLES2 instead of desktop OpenGL?

I tried it after setting renderer to 1 on the ini file, and I got a fast-repeating error about OpenGL functions not being loaded. But maybe I should try other settings?

@Shane: Any chances of getting the loop problem solved for Doom 1 OST? I am really loving this OST for years now, and this small problem still bugs me...

Re: GZDoom 3.8.0 Vintage Released

I doubt that these are"hugely popular". Just because you use such a thing doesn't change the fact that it is very much a niche product with an extremely small user base. Updating the Vintage build will become more difficult over time because this hardware lacks everything that makes modern graphics ...

Re: GZDoom 3.8.0 Vintage Released

@drfrag: I have missed that survey, so I guess I am partially guilty for the possible demise of GZDoom Vintage, but let me say that GZDoom Vintage is the ONLY way to have a working version of GZDoom on some hugely popular systems like the Raspberry Pi, so.... Would you please consider future updates ...

Re: [Music] HQ Doom Music (2017 Updates) [WIP] [Link]

@Shane: Would it be possible to have a version of the Doom 1 pack without the extra riff, so we get seamless looping? Minor detail, but for those of us who know the Doom OST too well it's a little imperfection in such a magnificent OST incarnation as yours!

Re: [Music] HQ Doom Music (2017 Updates) [WIP] [Link]

@Shane: These music packs are simply AMAZING, this is what I play Ultimate Doom and Doom2 with. I can't stand GUS emulation anymore, this is how Doom music is supposed to sound! However, I have noticed looping is not right, E1M1 for example, you can hear an extra guitar riff between loops. It ...
