Re: Fan-Written Doom Screenplay

I know about that. I've done my research. And, no. I'm not going to start there because I already have plans to reveal Doomguy's past later on in the script when it becomes thematically relevant. So, no thanks. And dude, no offense, but maybe you should read what I have before making recommendations ...

Re: Fan-Written Doom Screenplay

The short film or the script?

The short film starts as they've just docked on Phobos. The script starts with Doomguy arriving on Mars.

Re: Fan-Written Doom Screenplay

Yeah! They used nanobots to make sure the cyber limbs can bind effortlessly to virtually anyone. or in this case... any thing . I've also been toying with the idea that bigger demons can possess people and use their 'meat' to end up looking like their true form. Which is how you get ones like the ...

Re: Fan-Written Doom Screenplay

Actually, it's a pinky demon! Considering that he's only seen imps and possessed guards so far, Doomguy's concept of "big" is well... small. At least in comparison to what he'll be facing later on! But yeah, I'm drawing very little inspiration from Doom 3, because essentially I believe that was the ...

Re: Fan-Written Doom Screenplay

For anyone interested, this link will be valid for a while. That's the first 40 (approximately) pages of the script.

Re: Fan-Written Doom Screenplay

Well it's not gonna be that long. It's a couple scenes from a full length story. But I don't have the budget to do anything feature length. The short film will start when the marines arrive on Phobos, and end after Doomguy's intial skirmish with some of the possessed guards. But the story I'm ...

Re: Fan-Written Doom Screenplay

Thanks! I should point out that there's also going to be plated armor under the jumpsuit as well.

Re: Fan-Written Doom Screenplay

Thanks so much! We're aiming to make the final costume as close to that design as humanly possible.
We're going to custom mold the helmet, and make custom pieces for the chest armor. Both will have LED strips inside, but the LEDs on the chest armor will show his armor/health level. It'll be neat.

Re: Fan-Written Doom Screenplay

lol! Thanks! I'm glad you like it!
If you ever wanna take a peek at the script, lemme know.
Shooting the actual short film probably won't start til next month. And including post, probably won't wrap til May, so there's a bit of time between now and then.

Fan-Written Doom Screenplay

I guess this all started a couple months ago. I was writing a sequel to a script I had finished sometime last year, completely original stuff, but my collaborator wasn't feeling the story, and I was losing steam on it, creatively speaking. So I took a break and... out of the blue started playing ...

Re: New Member Introductions

Hi all. I only recently got back into Doom itself, digging up Zdoom and discovering a whole community of modders and mods behind it. I don't mod or anything, I wouldn't know where to begin. I toy around on Doom Builder now and then, but I don't know my ass from my elbow in it. The only real "project ...

Re: ZDoom project ideas you have

How about an Evil Dead mod. You'd start out, locked in a cabin, as deadites bust their way inside. I guess after the initial volley, you'd have to go into the basement, there could be a hallucination level, then you'd have to try and escape into the woods, and then come back to the cabin. by this ...

Re: [Released] Brutal DooM V19 - ADHD Edition V2

Thanks, but I actually sorted it out. I had conflicting mods. I didn't realize I had certain ones set to autoload. It's all working now. Thanks! Edit: Having played it for a while now, one thing I've noticed is that there's no auto-reload on the dual wield rifles, and the reload is painfully slow ...

Re: [Released] Brutal DooM V19 - ADHD Edition V2

I'm kinda new to using mods and all, and I hate to sound like an idiot or something, but I'll risk it-
I got everything set up. Same way I use Brutal Doom. But when I go to use this mod, it says there's "56 errors while parsing DECORATE scripts"
Wtf am I doing wrong?
