Should I assume that it also involves the shitload of archviles that are released throughout the level near the end? Now that I know it has a reward involved and not just a trap I'll give it a try. To tell you the truth I rather enjoy this level. The searching aspect reminds me of the good old days ...

It does work in .96x. I never knew that, tested it just then. (Though it makes the grenades rather deadly).

The caltrops: Pretty good for a first weapon, I would have gone for direct damage instead of an explosion. Also damage seems too weak, I set them to hurt myself and they were lucky to do 1 damage a piece.
