Re: [WIP] Virus - Resources Done

This is one of those projects that fall under "really original stuff." I like those sorts of projects, and the graphics fit in perfectly. No, they aren't insanely detailed, but they fit incredibly well. The screenshots make me think of those old win95 games that I used to love so much. I can't wait ...

Hm...

I was about five or six when I first got Doom from my dad. Doom95 on a pretty decent computer for the time. I beat it after about a year. I always would use the keyboard, I remember, and I got so excited after finishing it.

Doom - The Animated Series Somewhat of a personal dream project of me, this is a continuation of the Doom I/II "story" where humanity tries to retake Earth from the Hellspawn. It's got a pretty decent-sized bible on it, but I need the time and skill to animate this thing. I'd type up the bible if ...

Actually, there is, and for GZDoom, it's heaps better, once configured right. It has a lot more dialog boxes for constructing things like 3D floors and such. Though it's meant for SRB2, it works for other ports as well. It is more stable and has a lot of bugs fixed from the official version ...

Hm, one of the problems I always have when modeling is that I put too much detail into them before I set them to a subsurface. What this does is make the model very hard to keep detailing, as everything is already in a sort of predetermined shape. This isn't too bad for making animations, but for ...

Wow... this looks like one of THE most atmospheric wads I've ever seen. And most of those wads were novelty things like Ghoul's Forest, not standard Doom-style gaming. Amazing mix, there, Torm.

That's a very... interesting palette you've got there, Torm. I have a feeling the beige monsters like the Imp and the Zombieman are going to look a bit off, though. Either that or my eye for color is way out there. :P

The first is nothing like the second. The second one is, in my own opinion, one of the best wads ever made, whereas I rather disliked the first.

Re: hi resolution sprites

is there a serious lack of hi resolution sprites being used in mods? So what are my projects, chopped liver? Depends on your opinion, ma'am. I LIKE liver, so there you go. Really, some people just like using low res as an excuse to not put much effort into their sprites. Others like the Doom-like ...

No... hm... I should have said guideshapes, shouldn't I? No, I mean making basic 3D shapes to construct your picture before darkening lines.

And by god, use guidelines. I went a decade without, and when I actually started to use them, I improved tenfold. But I also have trouble with coloring, so I still don't make sprites.

@CDG: Don't cartridges contain enough oxygen inside them not to rely on air? (I recall something about astronauts taking guns with them to act as an emergency method of propelling themselves... but that was way back and due to recent events now very difficult to google.) At any rate I'd be more ...
