I figured out the source today. This is caused by the [imgur] tag. The thumbnail-maker tries to take the Imgur [i]page[/i] url that's between the imgur tags instead of the displayed image, and chokes as a result.

Hello, I have observed that for some time in the Projects forum section, some of the posted thumbnails by users who opened their thread in its day, are appearing as a 'broken file' icon for an unknown reason...

A few hours ago I updated my Heretic mod and included a new presentation image at the first post, and the same thing has happened to me: the thumbnail image doesn't show as previous one anymore, showing that rather ugly broken icon. And as much as I try to edit the post and correct it, the results are the same... :?

AFAIK this issue only happens rarely, but when it occurs it is a bit baffling...
