I'm surprised you can figure that out from one error line. It would be nice however if GZDoom doesn't try to set it to OpenGL mode on startup, (since it screws up the window positions on my second monitor, but that's irrelevant) so it doesn't conflict with video cards that are so freakin outdated.Graf Zahl wrote:That might be it. I think it's the stencil buffer I am requesting. Your driver first tells me that everything is ok but when I try to get the rendering context it fails. It should fail much earlier when I try to set the pixel format.
You obviously misread my last post. I don't think that I really need to repeat myself about what the problem is.Doomguy0505 wrote:Well, gzdoom's gl mode doesn't work in fullscreen for me so try GL windowed

If you set the renderer to software in the menu it won't try to init OpenGL first.deathz0r wrote:I'm surprised you can figure that out from one error line. That's precisely what card I have too, and I too get a big white screen with 0.1fps.deathz0r wrote:99% sure it's a vexing bug. This video card (S3 Savage ProDDR) does not support OpenGL 1.2 at all. It either forces programs to switch to software mode, or it renders everything as white.
Damn OpenGL...again...
(yay for software mode, that is, providing 3D floors work in it...)

Isn't it time to buy something better?
