I now believe it to be an ideal time to reveal my next contribution to the community.
Unlike my entries in the Cyrgoth series, this WAD is going to be a full-length HeXen experience spanning 5 hubs and over 30 levels. Also unlike my Cyrgoth wads, I am going to need assistance from the broader community to complete this project, as it will be deviating from the vanilla-themed HeXen experience. Custom assets used will include textures, keys and puzzle items, boss enemies, and a brand new Kevin Schilder-styled soundtrack. I am also experimenting with a script-based system of pickup abilities that are acquired over the course of the game and stay with you the entire playthrough.
To make this project a reality, I will need assistance creating graphics, composing midi tracks, discussing the story and function of new boss enemies, and of course, designing levels. The name of the WAD isn't set in stone either, so that can change if there are better ideas pitched.
I have already privately received contribution from Alper002 in the form of mapping assistance, as well as a starting slate for a level from Suporma before they decided to part ways with the project. Some graphical contributions were also received from NeoWorm and musical contributions from Lippeth. Additional credits go to ETTiNGRiNDER, Gothic, and zrrion the insect for graphics used. This WAD began development shortly after the release of my Afterlands WAD, and has been in limbo for a long time. I refuse to let the project die though, as too much progress has already been made.
This WAD is meant to be the HeXen expansion that we never got. Please message me or post here if you want to participate. Mapping assistance needed is limited, and I will provide more details of the available workload to those who show interest in contributing.
This project will require a ZDoom-based source port.
