[Release] Dire Necropolis

Post by john_drak »

DIRE NECROPOLIS

A singleplayer Hell-type level for GZDoom, specifically for Doom 2 in UDMF format.

This is the first level I've released, though I've had previous experience too.

OTEX textures used (included in this PWAD, too, which is why it's such a big file).
A few things from Realm667's repository used.
Modern techniques used, including ACS scripting.
A code-based technique for monsters alerting monsters about you used.
Special settings of GZDoom used.
"dire_necro.txt" readme file included, in the traditional format of \idgames. Read it for additional information.

Not much of a plot: You've been trying to escape Hell, and you found yourself falling into an underground area…

Screenshots included as attachments because BBCode is off for me.

I don't why nobody commented on here yet, but i really liked your map, i liked what you were going for, but i think it was a bit too easy on the player resource-wise and maybe a bit too short, but it was a sweet experience. expecting more maps from you the next time XD

Thanks guys!

I may in fact never again make another Doom map because of how I have prioritized my hobbies, but we'll see, I'd love to someday be able to give you the "Dark One's Fortress" I have in mind!
