TLDR: Why is it not possible to create an account on the wiki.
I would really love to help out with the wiki and so I try to sign up, but it just blocks me from creating an account.
What I really wanna know is, why?
Especially if no one will update the FAQ on the wiki to state the reason (or at least say that you can't join).

Because of spambots. Sorry. You can PM me or another wiki admin with your email address and we can create you an account, the address is needed so that the wiki software can send you a temporary password.

Having seen this kind of inquiry about a dozen times before, I think it might be a good idea to remove the wiki registration form altogether and replace it with instructions on what users should do to create an account there. (An even better solution would be to make the forum itself act as an identity provider for the wiki, but I of course understand the potential complexity here, as well as the amount of time it might take to implement - definitely not a trivial task.)
