Working as intended. Pinkies bleed out after they revive after a few seconds and they are supposed to make you paranoid. They have a tell, too.
Spoiler:
All undead, Arachnodrone included, revive times and corpse HP based on their HP. Bigger undead are harder to destroy but also take much longer to revive. Arachnodrones are especially tanky because they are both Undead and Cyber. Im not gonna change them because
1. They are very slow
2. They are very loud
3. They are slow to attack
4. They have one attack with a very long and obvious telegraph
5. Their attack is easy to dodge if extremely damaging
6. (I don't remember if its this update or next update) They can be totally locked down by melee

The ONLY change Im planning on making is making it more obvious they are Undead.

I wish there was the option to disable the self-resurrecting special abilities, it's really annoying. Currently I can only disable all special abilities which sucks.
Edit: Never mind, you can just punch their corpses to stop that, I thought I had to gib them while they're still alive. Much less of a hassle.

Update 4, which is coming Sunday at the latest barring a major bug popping up in testing, will feature an option to toggle that and other special properties

Thanks (though as I wrote in my last post before I checked for new ones, that I can smash them makes it much less of a problem.)

We finally did it, Update 4 is out! You can find it and the latest changelog in the OP now.

Here are some highlights
  • Complete code overhaul
  • New monster: Torment Elemental
  • Cyborg Scout and Bruiser Demon bosses remade
  • CVars fully work, and more CVars
  • Color translations are now manually recolored sprites
  • Brightmaps
  • Para-Revenants are no longer awful
  • Additional traits added to Cybers, Undead and Brains
  • Readme added with extra gameplay information
  • Codex moved to a document on the repo and in the zip
This has been long over due. Again. This was like, 80% done in November, then I ended up taking a hiatus, then focusing on FOTG, but we're back, we're here and its out.

Anyway, have fun and keep me posted.

So now this mod should not have any texture issues with the doom 64 texture pack?

uhhh, maybe? I didn't know that was an issue and I don't try to work around stuff like texture packs.

Just checked and I dont see any texture errors or glitches with the d64 texture pack for any legion monsters compared to update 3.5.

so yeah it works.

When trying to load this with GZDoom 4.7.1, I get these two fatal errors:
legion-master.zip:zscript/lostsoul/lostsoulbase.zsc, line 68: Unknown flag 'ONLYSLAMSOLID'
legion-master.zip:zscript/cacodemon/coldtomato.zsc, line 71: Unknown flag 'ONLYSLAMSOLID'

That's the most recent version I have installed, does anyone else have that problem or should I just upgrade to a new version?

That version of GZDoom is like, 3 years old. Its older than LEGION itself, so I'm surprised it ran at all. Upgrade your GZDoom.

Hey. Been a hot second.

Just popping in to say I'm doing some final testing on a new update, but it won't be Update 5, it'll be Update 4.5. Why 4.5? It won't have any major new content and is mostly bugfixes and some polish (and a mechanics overhaul for Barons). You can expect to see it by Monday; got a long weekend from the holiday, so I've plenty of time to test and tweak.

So why not 5? Well, 5's gonna have something pretty major that might take a while to plan, develop and test, even by Bront Modding Standardspatent pending, as well as at least one new monster and one new species boss.

So what is it? Well, do ya'll like Hell modes?

So there's this game called FANTI But Dumb, if you know, cool, if you don't, its a super hard FNAF fangame and I won't go deeper than that. Anyway, its designed specifically as like, a challenge game, and it has a toggle called Silent Mode. It makes all the enemies able to activate their Silent Mode at random times, giving them extra properties that make them much harder to counter, or even counter their counter, as well as the whole night having special modifiers. Not an original concept by any means, but I really like it here, so I'm doing my own take for LEGION. I'm polling the name on Discord right now, but the poll is about over so it looks like LEGION's Silent Mode will be known as Gehenna I wanted Abandoned By God for the FNATI reference and that extra edginess but I follow the poll and still like Gehenna.

When you toggle Gehenna on, various global modifiers will activate, like monsters passively regenerating Special Timer and all projectiles causing Status Effects, and each species will gain special properties that either further enhance their role or counter a specific effective way to deal with them. Gehenna will be an options menu toggle, in its own submenu, so it will be independent of the game difficulty and you have to go out of your way to enable it and I'll be looking into way to make sure its disabled by default and on game launch. It will not be guaranteed to be beatable and intentionally overtuned (and a little unfair but not unavoidable instant death hitscan Complex Doom style horse shit, but will be mean and merciless)

So when will it come? Good question! Like I've said before, a while! I've been brainstorming some potential effects, and did some overhauling of some under the hood stuff to make some of the things I want to do with it possible but just the volume of work is a lot, and I've been working on other mods too (FOTG is always being pecked at, ARACHNOTRON has seen 2 or 3 total overhauls expect that soonish too) and I want the effects to feel like genuine Impossible Mode-esque boosts and not just IWTBTG instant lose stuff, so its gonna take a lot of tuning. And also new monsters.

Anyway, enough yapping. Thanks for your time, thanks for playing and keep me posted

And its out, Update 4.5 is here! Grab it from the OP and check out the changelog for the full list of changes, but here's the footnotes
  • ZScript version updated to 4.12. Update your GZDoom!
  • Lots of VFX tweaks
  • Bugfixes, most notably Cyberdemons no longer get stuck after killing something wow
  • Monster death explosions are bigger and more powerful
  • Baron of Hell mechanics overhauled
So from here, I'll be focusing on Gehenna (and other mods), but obviously still let me know if some issues creep up so I can get them fixed for Update 5.

Anyway, have fun and keep me posted

EDIT: LEGION is now hosted on itch.io, and the download link in the OP has been updated. Effects nothing, but gives me analytics so I can watch funny numbers go up and then flatline.
EDIT 2: If you downloaded before July 12, redownload, I just pushed a hotfix to fix a crash.
