As long as I hold back my DESIRE TO BE THE INTERNET POLICE, I do fine on forums. (I have pity on anyone who takes up the title "Kills Trolls DEAD") I don't need to lurk much to post business, because business is simple courtesy. But OffTopic is a fine place to hang. Thankfully people played along with my poll whoring a little bit (that was fun though...) instead of totally telling me to piss off.

It can be hard, but it's a good thing to be nice to noobs. Some of them will need straightening due to their behavior (Look at me, I'm better than all of you!!!!) but being nice can make for a better contributer to the community later on.
@jalla - I hate to be picky, but you misspelled recruiting and you used doesn't in the wrong context. (Replace it with don't

Yep, this can't go unnoticed. Seriously, with the creation of the offtopic forum it appears people have just gone [censored word]. Many good users turned to either trolls, morons to show they are NOT or immatured flamers.
I'm not really the one to complain, but I must say I'm with Bio and those that wish that old regulars like LWM, Agent ME, Logic Deluxe, Sphagne or even Hotwax returned to the boards
Good thing Lexus, Enjay and Graf are still with us

The thing is though, not all of us new users are complete retards, just the vast majority. I do admit that I'd liked to have been here in 2003 to have seen what the 'good old days' were really like but if I went back in time, I think I might have more important things to do than go on forums (I don't know what, but stuff none the less). Also a lot of the good stuff that we have now wouldn't have been available (Many wads, .96x and a variety of other things.)
One of the main ways we're going to stop getting all of these irritating newbs and n00bs would be to set good, rigid examples of whats right and that way a total retard would stick out much better instead of being able to hide amongst the spurts of retardedness that are coomon occurances here.

Obviously there are more interesting things than even caring about this stuff
For me, the boards is a refreshment, a break when I'm working so I drop by to see some stuff, or, when I'm in need of answers or help I'll post a thread.
The "good old" days had much less idiotic and agressive behavior. Sure there were flamewars - see Hotwax, but they ended quickly and the whole place just seemed more like a helping spot.
As for newbs/n00bs-simply put, it's allowed. If people didn't even respond to n00bs before they say something that has sense or they ignored them immideatly rather than flaming the hell out of them-see Xavier's example-things would go away.
Fighting n00bs is exact the same as letting them be here-because subconciously You approve their presence and underline it with Your attention.
"Give me what I want and I'll go away (attention, [censored word] behavior or flame the hell out of me and make Yourself look like a turd)"- but we got nothing to give them. Simple.

Heh, I remeber the old days. It much more of a helping spot, even with my noob-tastic posts I got the help I wanted and people were kind about it(I use to mix normal grammer with internet lanuage X_X). It's not bad right now, but meh.Nmn wrote: The "good old" days had much less idiotic and agressive behavior.
