After the last update! (Using a saved game from the previous version)

Do I have to restart!?

If the save file is from the previous version, usually it cannot be loaded with updated version because it might be included with changed or newly added stuff that the previous version doesn't have.
It really sucks i know. It'd be shocked if there are ways to restore the save file and whatnot.

The other way is to use cheats and/or console commands to get to the same map with the same inventory items (i.e. manually recreate your save). Not as satisfying but potentially better than replaying from the start if you don't want to.

Thanks for the quick replies!Enjay wrote:The other way is to use cheats and/or console commands to get to the same map with the same inventory items *I.e manually recreate your save). Not as satisfying but potentially better than replaying from the start if you don't want to.
It's the third time this happens xD
It's the first time the save game (from "main world") loads and works until I try to exit the dungeon xD

i'm guessing that means something changed between version in the map that you are exiting to.

Makes sense!Enjay wrote:i'm guessing that means something changed between version in the map that you are exiting to.
My temporary solution is:
bind mouse3 "mdk"
Until I "recover" my progress xD

Re: Abysm 2 EXPANSION: Spirit Falcon - NEW! Release v1.2
Update Uploaded for v1.2 As part of Abysm 2's 4th Anniversary Release
- Stasis Spell now removed and replaced with a new Sakura Tree's Blessing spell
replaced Dragon Bone ring with Serpent Scale Ring
Added Bite Sounds to Growler and Grim
Added Flask drops for Soulkeeper Taka, Shadowclaw Yamazaki and the Foot Soldier Leaders to make it consistent with the base game where select Unique enemies drop them
Secrets added to some maps that had none initially
Tribute Shrines now have message popups upon activating them, which also name the mods they are meant to represent.
Fixed the damage on the Sabre where the follow-up swings would cause 3 base damage instead of 2Spoiler:

Re: Abysm 2 EXPANSION: Spirit Falcon - NEW! Release v1.2
Hi!
First of all thanks for the wonderful series that is Abysm.
Only now at the last expansion, Spirit Falcon, do i encounter problems such as entities not spawning on the probably intended height, in this case the serpent staff ON the table. As it is i am unable to pick it up which really breaks the pacing as i tried every setting in GZDOOM to remedy, without any success. Same issue for iron shards and gold pieces - under the tables. But the weapon not being pickable is the worst.
(Example Screenshot of Staff spawning on the floor instead of on the table where it probably should be so you can pick it up...)

Does anyone else also have this problem and more importantly how would i solve this?
Using the latest GZDOOM and the latest files found on ModDB (Version 1.2?)
Secondly, i can't run this expansion with my otherwise goto OpenGL ES hardware renderer (yes i do have a potato laptop), it crashes when i open a new game and look around. which is strange cause i played the entire rest of the series like so no problem. Probably some unresolved OpenGL calls or stuff like that i don't know. Using vanilla OpenGL hardware rendering does work but my PC cannot sufficiently handle it. No, my dinosaur onboard grfx does not support Vulkan.
Too bad cause i really really enjoy Abysm, you did an awesome job!
Also i'm hoping for a sequel!
EDIT: I just found out that one of the additional Mods i always load with GZDOOM was to blame: "Intelligent Supplies". When i turn it off everything (namely entities / things) spawns where it should, and i am able to pick up Gold, Iron Shards and most importantly the Serpent Staff. Problem solved.
What's still remaining however is the second problem, the incompatibility with Open GL ES hardware rendering (this only concerns the Spirit Falcon Expansion). This is bad for people with weak graphics and slow PCs like me. Not sure what can be done about this, if anything.
