Two days ago on August the tenth, he fixed nine bugs.

By comparison, I looked back all the way to April, and couldn't find a single post that said he fixed a bug.

My theory is that he is nearly done with the next version. He's about to release it, but he wanted to fix as many bugs as he can before he does, so he's looking through the bugs forum to stomp out as many as he can. I can see no other explination for his sudden intrest in marking bugs as "Fixed"

I doubt Randy himself will enlighten us as to why he's suddenly going on a bug hunt, so I just thought I'd speculate. And you guys could speculate.

What do you guys think? Will you rejoice with me that the next version is about to be unleashed? Or will you tell me how much of an idiot I am for finding evidence where there is none?

I'd say it's almost here: Finishing the renderer and adding the 96x stuff is all that's left if I inteperet the "Status of 2.0.97" topic correctly.

I don't believe in wondering when something is going to be released; whenever it comes out, it's almost always fine by me.

Considering that the recent source release is much more stable than I ever expected I'd say most is done. Adding the .96x stuff should be the last thing to do before a release is possible.

I think its wonderful how the most optomistic choice has less votes than the other two.

I can't tell from the source code, its confusing as hell to me. But from all I can gather about randy's activity and such I think its near completion.
