Each of the maps is completely vanilla Doom-format, ~5-10 minutes long, and designed for pistol-start, each small and cramped with 100+ monsters. This does not means you cannot continuously play the provided wads from a single archvile (...is that a typo?) but no promises it will work. At higher difficulties and blind run, you might run out of ammo if you miss the weapons scattered around.
MAP04 is slightly larger, slightly meaner and edges into slaughtermap territory. It was added later.

For what it's worth I actually really like the look of your screenshots.
It's somewhat of a pet peeve of mine to see hyper detailing in Doom. There's something very soothing about going back to basics and not mega-detailing every surface of a map.
The file was updated so there are now 4 maps arranged properly, and the files were uploaded to /idgames (https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/level ... c/alms2021). Hopefully there are no too fatal bugs in the last map, which I added on a whim - it matches the other three stylistically but is even bigger and more populated.
