Sorry , edited the above post with specs

Yes , versions up to 3.85 seem to perform noticeably better compared the current build atm too (obviously missing updates and compatibility with latest mods I believe)

32 bit support has been off the table for a long time. It is considered deprecated.

There is a possibility of it making a comeback but it will be temporary, if it even lasts any length of time at all. GZDoom wants to move away from that, and has for a long time.

The next release may come with a 32 bit version, because we are planning to merge the GLES branch into main GZDoom.
What happens then depends on the survey we're planning to run. Keep in mind that two years ago 32 bit was at 1.5% user share and a lot of time has passed since then. Current numbers will be even lower. Also, with Windows 11 on the horizon and its significantly upped system requirements I'd expect 32 bit to decline even faster now.

drfrag has already stated he's planning to end LZDoom support which gives us a chance to get a reasonable picture of current hardware again.

Good. (Well not for LZDoom ending support) but its good that GZDoom by itself will service both modern OpenGL and GLES (And the latter is pretty well supported too) since the GLES build purely looks at the visual aspect and retains everything GZ.

Its a good selling point though. Many developers take to GZDoom to make new games - Soon people can also target lower end machines when they create their game. Its a win-win.
