https://twitter.com/ThrowbackCorp/statu ... 5447897091 - Seems they meant to keep it a secret initially, but this is the first part of a collaboration with Night Dive on getting the enhanced version done and officially released.

So, in other words, this is legit?

Based on the tweet, the enhanced version (most probably a port of the console version) will be sold separately:
The enhanced version will be fundamentally different from the version on GOG.

Why doubt it? GOG doesn't have a history of selling dodgy titles AFAIK.

Frankly the inaccurate description wouldn't be the first time such a mistake has been made either - I mean, back then games were often sold with completely wrong screenshots on the back of the box (IIRC doom saturn is one such example), so I don't think it's cause for concern.

Not anymore, indeed, after reading that tweet.

Considering that, it's a bit surprising that this has been fairly efortlessly put together though.

From what I understand Nightdive are working on remastering the PSX version of Powerslave. Maybe that's where some employee got confused.

But which version is the GOG release? Here in the Mapping Tips sheet are some known versions

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... sp=sharing

Latest I see is Exhumed dated Mar 19 1997 17:31:18

EDIT: Since it is the DOS version serious players should use this unofficial patch/hack.

http://www.r-t-c-m.com/knowledge-base/d ... e-patches/

EDIT: I just found out it was released as A.D. 1999: Pharaoh's Revival in Japan LOL
If you google you will find plenty of pictures of the Saturn CD in the used game markets. The image is from the European version, I think. That red skull.

Why use dehacker when the source ports exist?

Indeed, I was about to ask just that.

Unless you enjoy DOSBox I see no point in it whatsoever. Source ports handle it mighty fine.
