Re: Universal Rain and Snow
Thanks for the update. It's getting stable and ever.
But a few suggestions though: the rain drop sprite has a hint of blue, instead of white. Also i wonder if i could mix both climates and make it... You know, Sleet or Hale?

Re: Universal Rain and Snow
This is most excellent! There's just something special about playing hell themed maps in a snowstorm with no performance loss. The lighting and sound effects really add to the whole package. The sounds are a bit loud for my taste, but the sound effect quality is immersive and pleasant.
After using it for a few days I thought it would be cool to add green and red rain to match different environments.
I will say that this mod does not play nice with LZDoom's pseudo-rng option, precipitation falls in a single-file line above the player, but I think that's just the nature of that option.
Great work, I'm surprised at how well it fits almost any map!

Re: Universal Rain and Snow
This is a fantastic wee mod. I really appreciate these small things that add dynamism to the atmosphere of a map set.
I have a suggestion, if you're interested. Would it be possible to have an option to allow the mod to randomly choose a weather condition? I'd love to be able to add the mod to my autoload and never know if it's going to rain or not in my next play session. I feel it would make the mod feel a little more natural as I wouldn't initially have control over the weather.

I've been waiting for something like this. Great work! Now how does this exactly work? I tried loading this up with the Dark7 mappack, but I did not notice any snow effects.

Bind a key of your choice in the controls section, then just press the bound key to alternate between snow, rain and nothing =)lizardcommando wrote:I've been waiting for something like this. Absolutely love this mod. Such simple concept, but adds so much immersion to any map!
I totally agree. I also think it would be cool to add "ashes falling from the sky" weather. "Blood" rain or ashes would be great for hell maps.Lippeth wrote: After using it for a few days I thought it would be cool to add green and red rain to match different environments.

The ash and blood and colered versions would be absolutely awesome

Small update released today. Includes tweaks to the rain sprites to make them more visually cohesive, a few minor optimization changes, and a few safety changes to make it more friendly when playing online.

This is pretty cool and helps add some extra style to maps. Would it be possible to add some more things like raining fire and ash for those hell maps?
Edit: looks like someone beat me to the ashes idea lol.

Re: Universal Rain and Snow
I've been wanting this so much ever since I found the RPG mod with the optional acid rain event. I'm definitely gonna keep tabs on this mod's progression. This with Dark Doom works wonders for immersion. Now if only I could get rid of or lower the blue tint from the Enhanced enemy AI mod.
