Projects that have specifically been abandoned or considered "dead" get moved here, so people will quit bumping them. If your project has wound up here and it should not be, contact a moderator to have it moved back to the land of the living.
The nearby room that contains the bug dogs is normally closed.
If the bandits catch you they flip the switch, releasing the bug dogs. But if you shoot the bandits first before they have time to reach the bug dogs they stay locked up.
What are the ghost/mutants in the submarine saying? I assume it's the sort of things they would have said while crewing the sub and they don't realize they are brain monsters now but I'd like to know please.

As we roll into the tail end of this release, please let me know your thoughts on episode 2 as a whole - would like to know what you really enjoyed, what you think didn't really need to be here, and anything you'd like to see - we're using this information to plan a possible episode 3 (tbc). On that note, we do not require story ideas or suggestions. We already have a story in place for this. But we might be doing a small collaboration project if anyone does on the off-chance feel like mapping for this mod. A serious of short stories with other characters. Let me know if interested.
Ashes 2063 and Afterglow where great, looking forward to EP3.
Spoiler:
I played on survival.
I enjoyed the exploring the environments and the general atmosphere, especially Anomaly 210.
I liked that you could do a little bit of stealth before you needed to in guns a blazing.
I have enjoyed the story so far.
I enjoyed the boss fights.
I found the bike hard to use in both episodes
I could not figure out how to trick the Roamers after talking to the Baron so I got the bad ending.
I forgot you could disarm the pipebombs in between 2063 and Afterglow

I think it's
Spoiler:
Russian numbers station recordings, which means it's just a string of numbers and the occasional word like "repeat".

Interesting. Thanks. Makes me wonder what that means in regards to their nature.

Spoiler:
These are numbers. code or coordinates whatever. If you are interested you can take a look there. I suppose the records were taken from this collection.
And what does this mean in the game lore is another question. More funny - the name of the Soviet submarine. Why "Philadelphia"? Then "Alaska" will make more sense in different ways. But maybe there is something hidden
Just finished playing through Afterglow yesterday and I was once again impressed how amazing and fun Ashes is.
Spoiler:
What I liked:
-Once again the level design and atmosphere is top notch, its always fun and interesting to explore your levels
-New enemy types are great and make for great encounters
-Weapon upgrades are cool and are a nice option to spend scrap on
-liked the story so far; specifically the mid point, where your captured by the Mutants was super well done
-Trading in excess ammo is neat
What I disliked:
-Vehicle sections are awkward to me, so I prefer to just run on foot; also I dont need to hop of constantly, when I want to explore a level section
-I played on the highest difficulty and managed to stockpile a huge amount of ammo and scrap; I conserved lots of ammo early on and traded much in and upgraded everything I had before leaving the first hub; I wish their were more consumables(like Regens) or upgrades you could buy, and a NPC in the second hub to give excess ammo to
-a bit of a silly gripe, but when I replayed Episode 1 in the second level, it bothered me that the blue nightsky was changed to the purple one, as that one looked more like evening/early morning than deep night
The race track and how a secret is tied to getting first place in it.
That it is impossible to get 100% secrets in the scrapyard without getting a bad ending for the town. Though this is for 1.02. I've yet to try this in 1.05.
Wait, which secret? I got all of them in 1.02.
Spoiler:
I mean the secret with the golden crowbar. No matter what I tried I couldn't get it to open without finishing the race in first place.
ZikShadow wrote:I believe I was able to also get all the secrets in the Junkyard no matter my allegiance. On 1.00, no less. You're definitely missing something, I'm sure.
Quite probably. For the life of me I just couldn't figure out how to get them without killing most everybody.
Spoiler:
And as I understand, that locks you into the bad ending for Prosperity.
Wally Hackenslacker wrote:Quite probably. For the life of me I just couldn't figure out how to get them without killing most everybody.
Spoiler:
Head to the front door of the Junkyard and speak to the gate guards, they'll tell you to clear the bunker nearby. Clearing it then will allow you to meet the boss of the Roamers, he'll ask you to find a weakness in Prosperity. Telling him the weakness will have him allow you access to the rest of the Junkyard and even the tunnels below unharmed, and it won't affect a thing ending-wise since he'll still ask you to do the dirty deed for him, and you can just sod off and take the Baron's offer.
That switch lowers the wall and frees the Bugdogs you fight. If you can sneak up there and kill the Raiders before they use it, you don't have to fight them. Other than that it does nothing else.
Quick FAQ before I leave the subway on my bike -- does it matter what response I give to Violet about Porcelain? I.e. will it change things if I say she handled herself well, vs. she was being stupid?
