First of all, thank you for the many humans who have volunteered to take part in the testing phase, exposing yourself to the harsh radioactive dangers of raw beta. Your sacrifice shall not go in vain.
Second, the testing phase of the concept demo will begin shortly. From here, we will decide if we shall be making serious changes. We will also decide on whether to release a public demo at this early stage, and how long it will be. Obviously, I don't want to release something spoilerific or chopped to bits.
Anyway, I want to respond to a few comments before this date.

Oh, like Doom Eternal? Hmm. This hasn't really come up yet. Personally I don't really want to add a massive amount of new mechanics to the game at this point. Your question has given me a useful idea though, so you may be seeing this feature.... sometime soon.

2)I hope at least some weapons in 2nd episode will include some sort of underbarrel flashlight, because I'm not a fan of "either shoot or be able to see where to shoot" approach.
I'm very sorry to hear you did not enjoy DMW. Of course, not every release will be everyone's cup of tea. I would not have sanctioned it's release if I didn't think it fit the theme. Personally, I really enjoyed it, and so did many others. We did think hard about whether to include any bosses or other encounters at the end, but decided against it. I thought the shootout was pretty tense and exciting, and certainly did not ruin the entire experience. In any case, its not like the first episode didn't have its own glaring flaws.
As for the lantern issue, I think its apparent that I didn't plan many encounters taking place within a level of darkness that made you have to make a choice. This is another one of those choices that won't be to everyone's tastes.
However, I have been getting a few requests about this. I am experimenting with a system where you can use the lantern AS WELL AS the crowbar, revolver or autoloader. It will be accessed with a quick-key, probably WeaponZoom or something. Whether this adds an additional, unwanted level of complexity, we will have to see in the playtest.
I think it is worth bearing in mind however differing tastes and preferences. A lot of people dislike this mod simply because it isn't a vanilla experience. Are they wrong? I don't think it matters.

I really hope the second episode will have OST by the same composer.
I would rather have John/Primeval speak for himself on this. However, during a requests/questions session, his answer was pretty solid:
"All of them". So I believe he's pretty adamant about doing the job.
Besides, he's sent me new soundtrack already and its rad.
More news soon. Assuming the playtesters survive.
