I'll happily take a look at those, and thanks man.Vostyok wrote:Dude, this looks awesome. The screen shots on the MODDB are insane!
I really like the aesthetic you've chosen. And Siege Of Vrax is a great source material.
Let me know if you'd like some custom weapon sprites. I think I can dig up a few things that would be of a similar theme.
Thanks guys I really like watching playthroughs of my stuff all the way till the end (only just seen doom played on ts)
I've noticed a few things I missed in my rush to get this out.
No key in the hud which I will fix in update.
The idiot soldiers pooling at the back of the trench during the assault (cowards!) either make sure the previous area is fairly
clear of hostiles before entering the door on the other side (not cowards just idiots)
Or just give them the Emp.. I mean the Lords mercy either way I will fix that in future.
Speaking of other things I could fix, are the q2 strogg and tf pyro voices too much?
Any better alternatives?

I wonder if there will be repeating shotguns, flamethrowers, machine pistols, and other cool crazy WWI-esque stuff.

This is honestly one of the best TCs I've seen released this year, almost felt like I was playing a standalone game. Really impressive for something still in early development.
Because I loved kicking heretic asses in trenches so much, I made a version of the trench gun fitted with an Alofs reloading magazine. Something a little bit more novel and fitting with the dark dieselpunk feel of the game.

Sure, go right ahead! I'd be happy to see it put to some use. If you want, I can also send you a version of Trench Foot with the new sprites already implemented.Mooney wrote:

Hey - so I found that your 2-pk3 mod can be combined into a single pk3 file as well as adding a GAMEINFO file at the beginning of the files (yet after the folders) that has the following code:
I tested it and was able to load it up perfectly into Doom 2 as a single package via Slade
Code: Select all
iWAD="doom2.wad"
StartUpTitle="TrenchFoot"
StartUpColors = "<foreground color in Hexadecimal>", "<background color in Hexadecimal>"

Re: Trench Foot (Demo released)
Holy shit! This is some of the best atmosphere in a Doom mod in years. Every area feels really tense, both the aboveground bombardment and underground ambushes. The first underground imp (and a couple more after that) actually made me jump. And its cool how you technically can climb above the trenches, but just like in real life it leaves you full of holes. If theres one thing about the level design I'd suggest, its that there could be some ambushes or repopulation upon grabbing keys & backtracking.

Re: Trench Foot (Demo released)
Thanks guys glad you liked it and yeah the difficulty will get some extra attention in the next release.
I split it into two files deliberately so that people can play with other maps if they wish.
Juicy update coming soon.

Re: Trench Foot (Demo released)
Personally, I've always found the whole gothic dark religion, templar, emperor fanboy-fantasy aspect of 40K to be puerile nonsense and I really don't get why anyone takes it seriously. I only mention this because it's what has put me off even being interested in, much less trying, this mod for a long time.
However, putting that aside (and, honestly, it doesn't impinge on the game too much anyway), I gave it a go. Result: this mod is pretty amazing and the demo was really good fun. It's pretty tough in places and it really does a good job of capturing the confusion, chaos and bloody nightmare that being in a war situation like that might be. I'm looking forward to seeing more. Great job.
