A small update has been released. You can download it from the link below:

As always, any ZDoom compatible port and the original Doom2 wad are required to run.
In fact, this was done a long time ago, but since I am now busy with a completely different project that has nothing to do with Doom, it’s better to release what is have.
As always, the main changes are for map 13, 16, and 31-32, for all the rest as far as.
<WIP> Doom II Superficial Update

Re: <WIP> Doom II Superficial Update
I am really not sure what this project is about. You say the original pitch is no longer valid and you have been posting screenshots of Doom 1 levels.
Is it a reimagining of Doom 1 in Doom II? A remake of Doom II?

This is a cosmetic improvement to the Doom 2 levels.
Segments of Doom 1 from a parallel development project, but now it is in freeze (I can put it, but there are only a few changed levels).

Re: <WIP> Doom II Superficial Update
I've been meaning to release this for a long time, but here's where the work stopped:
https://www.mediafire.com/file/zoy7rftv ... 5.zip/file
Most of the changes are on maps 13 and 16, as well as 31-32. Also includes an unfinished version for Doom 1. To run, you need any ZDoom-compatible port and original games WAD files.

I hate to bump this, but there's something wrong with the file. It won't play or extract, it just says it cannot create the file at that location.

It works just fine on my end. Try redownloading it.
EDIT: I use 7-Zip myself.

Re: <WIP> Doom II Superficial Update
There is actually something weird about the zip.
If I double click it and just open it in windows explorer, if I try to extract one of the files I get:

If I open it with 7 Zip, no problem.

Yes, it was compressed using 7-Zip.

Re: <WIP> Doom II Superficial Update
It seems what you have done is compress a zip file using LZMA, this is very non standard and not a lot of zip tools will support this. You should either use deflate for zips, or use LZMA with 7z archives instead as all tools will understand that.

Here's the RAR version (same last edit from 02/2025): https://www.mediafire.com/file/7qvi9tpf ... 1.rar/file
One file is intended to run with Doom I, the second is with Doom II.
Here are alternative music packs: https://www.mediafire.com/file/92flfp3r ... c.rar/file

And goes to a proprietary tool instead...
