Glad my feedback helped. Thanks to you! And about "forced zoom manipulation", Shotgun can lock the view in its zoomed state, if you hold both Fire button and Alt-Fire button for a moment and let go at the same time.

And no, i did not play the game with Tilt++ on. But the tilting works fine with the mod.

Wooohoooo! Thank you! Gonna test it very soon.

EDIT: Some feedback.
- If the granade is cooldown-based, please add some indicator to the HUD, showing its cooldown time;
- Slot 5's alt-fire (scoped) fires a ball of light, which flies to the nearest wall/object and stays there forever. And it's phasing through the monsters like they weren't there, not damaging them at all. Or I am missing something?
- Is it intentional that the new ADS sprites are a bit lower than the crosshair?
- The minigun casings are waaay too big, imo;
- The SSG doesn't seem to have any casings at all;
- The hatchet doesn't leave any hitmarks on walls etc. (also true for 0.6)
- Any chance of adding iron sights to the Plasma Rifle and the shotguns?
- The grenade's explosion is quite pleasing visually, but it's totally different from the vanilla barrel explosions. Please consider giving them the same visual treatment;
- There's something strange with the sliding. Most of the time it works, but sometimes there seems to be a colossal friction and you end up sliding just an inch or two.

That's all for now. The mod is great and a lot of fun. I foresee a bright future for it ^^

Hey there ... Would you consider adding weapon light when shooting?
Especially the plasma gun would look awesome when it glows blue around the player and where it hits. ..
Also the other weapons of course...

Would be absolutely amazing

Just a quick dev note.

Lately i've been noticing a few, strange behavior regarding some elements of the mod, Casings and the Sliding to be precise.

If you pay attention, you'll see that casings can "bleed" sometimes, and the sliding has a small chance of not working correctly, as mentioned by @Yebudoom earlier

I managed to fix the sliding already, on my end, and the casings too. Now you can choose if you want weapons to eject casings at all. As a bonus, i added the cvar to enable and disable overall smoke effects

i'm sorry about these unconvenient errors, and i want to let you know that these are fixed and will be available in the upcoming update of Hellrider.

Regarding the given feedback for the 0.7 build, yes, there are some things i need to consider, tweak and add, i'm really thankful for such warm reception for this new project, and this feedback helps me to improve it as much as possible :mrgreen:

I was just about to mention the inconsistent sliding thrust =p

Well, maybe my only nitpick for now is that grenade animation seems to flicker on my end. Maybe it's just the fast selection/deselection, but worth mentoning.

Keep rocking ;)

I am really liking the mod and all the hefty feedback you got is sure to make it more improved. Thanks for adding the options for the bullet casings and weapon smoke it helps to the potato that I have for a pc to be sure. In regard of the weapon recoil, do low damage weapons will have low recoil? The SMG that replaces the chainsaw its recoil feels strong for me at least and found myself using it a bit more often in earlier levels than the pistol or the desert eagle.

Hey, i just found out that i actually can use my Warhead Launcher up close and take no damage. But the explosion caused by M350 still hurts you.

Really enjoying this one. I did like your Slayer's Rampage but a few of the guns recoil/muzzle flash was a bit much for me. This one seems a little more subdued in that category. The sounds are powerful and all the weapons are fun to use. The only minor issue I'd have is the upper left corner portion of the HUD - the spacing between the different K/I/S categories is a bit off. Nice work once again.

Just another dev note, i don't want to leave you guys in the dark. I'm re-working on some weapons, so far the MK 23 and the Shotgun were completely remade when it comes to visuals, including better animations. A few days ago i fixed a old phone i had, which has much superior hardware than the one i was using until now, so you guys can expect things like this

and this

Sometime soon in Hellrider

Again, thanks to everyone who has been giving feedback and supporting the mod, that means a lot for me and makes me want to improve it as much as possible. I'm trying to fix the K.I.S thing too, with other bug fixes aswell, not to mention the new player sprites - that may take a while to finish but slowly n' surely i'm making progress

So, yeah, it's not dead yet :mrgreen:

Edit: And this too

Am i actually seeing blurs around the weapons? That's really cool! Tho i'm not really a big fan of motion blurs, but those are darn impressive! I'm sure they'll fit nicely in game.

Sweet sprites! Awaiting anxiously!

Also, I don't think anyone considers the mod dead. The updates are regular enough :D

I've only played through a few maps with this so far, but it is already shaping up to very possibly be the best gameplay mod I've ever played. The movement feels wonderful, the gore effects and models are gorgeous, and the guns feel insanely good to use.

Re: Hellrider v0.8 - Swift demon killing!

Post by Endie »

Hellrider V0.8 is out, the link on the 1st page should be working!
I changed many things in the mod, some of them are clear in the trailer posted in the first page -- but still, there's a lot to do

- I re-worked on many sprites and animations, for the following weapons:
H&K MK23
IMI Desert Eagle
H&K MP7
Pump Action Shotgun
Double Barreled Shotgun
AKM

- Completely remade the "Warhead Launcher", turning it into a powerful "Eraser" Gauss Cannon Mk.3
- Completely remade the "Plasma Gun", turning it into the ChemTac Assault Railgun
- Added fancier Melee puff
- Fixed a few glitches involving the Sliding mechanic
- Fixed the Fast firing M98B
- Rachel's Legs now are full black
- Added new Titlepic and Interpic graphics
- Made some weapons punchier when it comes to screen recoil animations
- Casings and Smoke are now toggles (Mod Options > Effects)
- Made a new HUD design, from scratch, with a grenade cooldown indicator
- Starting weapons cannot be dropped or taken away from the player anymore
There's a lot of things I made for this update, sadly I didn't note them all so I can't give a full changelog :cry:
However, I hope you guys like it. Please report any bugs you come across either here or in my Discord server

I still have a few features planned, i.e decals for the Axe (yeah I haven't added it yet) and Player sprites (I still need to finish the rotations... ack :p)
so yeah, it's not complete, but it's playable. Then again, I hope you guys like it, download link in the 1st page along with a cool new Gameplay trailer '3'
