NightFright, I'll have a go at the Unity ones when my vanilla support is complete.NightFright wrote:Well, these would be more for personal usage. TNT and Plutonia on Unity have widescreen stuff, but STBAR is still 4:3. Doesn't matter if they are used as PWADs, but as an IWAD outside of Steam it will be noticed.

Re: [WIP] WidePix: 16:9/21:9 Graphics Replacement Project
Outstanding. It's even considered to put the widescreen images into the GZD PK3s since it's hard to detect the Unity IWADs properly. Your versions are significantly wider than the 426x200 in Unity, so I'd prefer yours. Especially for the statusbar it's important to have a wider version since you can't size it down much otherwise without the borders showing again. They also consider limiting stbar scaling to three options, 320x200, 640x400 or unscaled. Dunno if that's enough for my needs, though.
However, as it stands now, GZD won't display ultrawide formats properly plus there are some unresolved issues like PFUB2 from the ep.3 ending scroller.

At least we have what we need, not for SIGIL however.dmslr wrote:Wow:Spoiler:Thank you, Bethesda and Scuba Steve! How selfless you are! We are not worthy!

Please keep discussion about the Bethesda widescreen graphics out of this thread. Those aren't my work and have nothing to do with my project.

Reasonable. I guess I can give you some helping hand. Here's my attempt for Widescreen end screen for SIGIL. It is kinda rough, though.

Re: [WIP] WidePix: 16:9/21:9 Graphics Replacement Project
Slap them into a "graphics" folder, zip it and use it with the right game. Lump filtering can make one file work with any game. Over at the Duke4.net forums I made a complete file for all Doom games, but not with Nash's files.
As far as I can tell, these screens are too wide, though. For my 1080p screen, the 426x200 res images from the Unity port have the right size. Anything larger will have black bars. Maybe current GZD doesn't properly support ultrawide just yet.

Re: [WIP] WidePix: 16:9/21:9 Graphics Replacement Project
They're supposed to work for 4:3, 16:10, 16:9, and up to 21:9 wide aspect ratios. The sides of the images are cropped off instead of black bars being added to the top and bottom, and the images are designed to still look proper for the given aspect ratio regardless of how much gets cropped.NightFright wrote:As far as I can tell, these screens are too wide, though. Though as the first post notes, it depends on a relatively recent feature to GZDoom, which I don't think has been in an official release yet, so this mod hasn't had a release yet.

GZD 4.4.2 might not have full ultrawide support yet, so let's wait until the next official port release. Anyway, I admire and appreciate that Nash continues doing his thing, in spite of the Bethesda move. Keep going, mate!

Re: [WIP] WidePix: 16:9/21:9 Graphics Replacement Project
I finally got some time to work on GZDoom again. Is there any download of the ultrawide images that's up to date? So far all I got is the 16:9 Unity images but not the full versions.
