Re: Doom Runner (yet another graphical Doom launcher)
Is there / Will there be an option to disable file icons? I think, before 1.8.0, the modlist used to look much cleaner without them. For now, I'm going to continue using 1.7.3 just because of this, lmao.

There is, it's just kinda hidden at the moment, because i couldn't find a good place for it. Right click inside the mod list, and there it is.

Re: Doom Runner (yet another graphical Doom launcher)
Hey Youda, Would it be possible to have Doomrunner open with the map pack window showing the last pack used. I realise that as it stands the app remembers the last used pack and keeps it highlighted but I have a huge list of WADs (I'm sure I'm not the only one!) and I have to scroll through to see if one is highlighted. Hope that makes sense.

Ah, it stays scrolled at the top, but you would like it to scroll at the selected item. Makes sense, i will see if that's possible

Re: Doom Runner (yet another graphical Doom launcher)
I noticed with the recent update despite having it set as Fusion dark theme before updating, the new update would give an error (I assume letting me know the settings file location moved) but the theme was defaulted to the buggy mix of dark theme with light theme, so the text was unreadable, so I had to check the box, not being able to read it, and hit ok. Probably something to look into.

Thanks. Already got this on github, looking into it.
It should be safe to just press Ok. In worst case some setting will be reset to default.

Re: Doom Runner (yet another graphical Doom launcher)
Are the Gameplay Options in the launcher based on GZDoom's options? (ie DMFlags) I'm asking because I noticed the newest version of GZDoom added a "pistol start" option, which I think is part of a new dmflags3. (I know nothing about dmflags, so excuse my wording) Would this be something that Doom Runner could add, or should it stay the way it is so it doesn't mess up non-GZDoom engines?
EDIT: For now, going to the preset's additional command line arguments and typing in "+dmflags3 128" works fine if you want to enable pistol starts.

Re: Doom Runner (yet another graphical Doom launcher)
Hello,
i use batch files, is there a launcher that manages bat files so that i could use it ... it's the best way to use GZ, for me, batch work portable, i have a MODs folder inside GZ folder ROOT !
An app that handles bat files, there is few settings i use tho (-config // -savedir // -iWAD // -FILE ), would help me a lot, so that i don't miss typo.
Could the option to IMPORT/EXPORT batch files could be added, it'd help a lot of people keeping using batch files, i'll do anyway.
It needs verry few options:
import batch files, many, (using filename for "title")
export to batch, many, (it'd keep imported batch files name, since it used filename for "title")
check if files written in batch exist (it'd fix user typo...) then report errors
directories being relative, add absolute directories for Linux (not me)
THANKS

Re: Doom Runner (yet another graphical Doom launcher)
how is the load order handled?
Like are items at the TOP of the "add mods" list loaded first or last?
Like say I have a mod, and a patch file to load after it... is that above or below?

Top to bottom. That is to say, winning mods go to the bottom.
You can also open the console after GZDoom has started and scroll up to see the order the files are loaded in, winning files being at the bottom, also.

Re: Doom Runner (yet another graphical Doom launcher)
This probably goes outside the scope of this launcher, and likely may have already been talked about, but in case if it hasn't yet... It'd be nice if we could create "packs" of mods (i.e. if I make a pack called AEons of Death, it'd have AEoD.pk3 and AEoDdat.pk3), with the ability to reposition the packs much like regular mods.
You can save packs and they're simply just .DRP files (Doom Runner Pack) which are simply text files that have the directory of each file/folder/custom command line inside. This would allow for loading/saving pack files into presets for quick and easy positioning of files to load.

Hmmm, i actually like this idea. Please write it to https://github.com/Youda008/DoomRunner/issues, so that i don't forget it.Major Cooke wrote: ↑Sat Feb 15, 2025 12:35 pm This probably goes outside the scope of this launcher, and likely may have already been talked about, but in case if it hasn't yet... It might also solve one of the oldest suggestions on github - https://github.com/Youda008/DoomRunner/issues/46. And it's not even hard to implement.
