Download the Latest Release

0.1.0 is finally ready. Kinda. Not 100% where I wanted it to be but close enough. From here on, we'll have actually changelogs and version tracking, but there are still a ton of features that need to be added.

I'm taking a little break, but make sure you let me know if anything is extra broken or wonky. I'm aware of the axe's sounds being kinda fucked but we'll get there. Anyway, have fun and keep me posted.

This mod is absolutely amazing. The revenant has always been one of my favourite doom monsters second only to the baron. I discovered both of your mods a while back and can't stop playing them. I have no issues except the occasional wall whiff. It runs smoothly as well. But I do have one question. There is a silver sphere that when I pick it up I have no idea what it does. It only gives me an icon in the upgrade menu that looks like an orange coffin. What is this? Otherwise, great job on the mod.

Thanks for the videos! I always like seeing people make content of the mods, it really inspires me to keep going.

Also really glad to hear the mostly positive reception so far. I was a little worried that, even after this much development, The Revenant was gonna be a little too cold in the middle but it seems to be going along fine.

As for the silver orb, uhh….whoops. That was supposed to be dummied out. Right now it gives you a passive damage reduction boost, but in a future update (when I get around to working on mods again) it will be a permanent stackable10% boost to your HP. I'm opting to change it so that it feels more substantial and has a visible effect, and the passive DR was stacking too much with the heavy DR armor gives (on top of its protection) essentially making you immortal in Medium or better armor. Revenant is supposed to be tanky in armor, not Baron levels of invulnerable.

I'm not played this mod yet, but I could suggest you to check the scaling of the HUD in options, and turn off the option of GZDoom advanced HUD if you have it active.

The DOOT Trumpet would be awesome as a weapon in the mod.

It is an idea that I give, many people would love to see it.

nice work, worked great with some movement mods, i find myself on walk mode on the early levels of ep1, so fast :D

GZDoom can run zips like it can pk3 or WAD,
Ehh...sorta ? It's a bit quirky ? Like, if you zip a pk3 - it wont be loaded. Or if you zip two wads - only one will load, not sure how it determines which one. On the other hand, if you 7z two wads - both wads will load properly.

So I've been wondering

You mentioned going back to HoD:B because of how bloated and clunky it was and expressed concern that Revenant was going to suffer the same fate


So I wanna ask is: "What will you change and remove for Revenant once you get back to it?"

Ah ha, you see, I've been at Revenant for the last few weeks for this EXACT thing! I just haven't made any kind of PR material for it yet cause Revenant in general is...uhh...pretty raw.

But I've been overhauling the off hand stuff. Namely, I've removed spells and guns, but am making the punching and axing more interesting and involved.
The single/double shot system has been removed in favor of a tap/hold system, and almost every cannon is being remade completely.

Once its far enough along, I plan on making a preview vid, but that's the kind of thing that's planned so far.

Ah well,Revenant didn't need guns anyway,he has all the guns he needs right here


(I'm talking about his cannons of course,skelly man got no muscles)
