This looks really impressive, Mr. Nash! I'm definitely looking forward to testing this out one day.

Playable beta release date: 30th November 2018. Mark your calendar. It's going to get very bloody.

I noticed some changes to the frozen monsters in the Hexen clips, are those also part of this mod?

This has Smooth Doom name written all over it. Does it work on Smooth Doom?

Yes, but it can be disabled. Almost every feature of NGM Vengance can be disabled.Rip and Tear wrote:I noticed some changes to the frozen monsters in the Hexen clips, are those also part of this mod?
I loaded Smooth Doom in some of the clips in the video (not all) to demonstrate NGM's full compatibility. Yes, it works with SD. No, I took nothing from SD; NGM uses 100% original code and assets.DoomCATO wrote:This has Smooth Doom name written all over it. Does it work on Smooth Doom?

Frozen deaths could use a little bit of gore and blood. Just a little bit.

Agreed. The ice chunk effects look and feel pale in comparison to the other stuff in the mod. I'm going to be enhancing it but I can't promise it'll make it into this Friday's beta, as it would require me to think about and design some new graphics for it.Grigori wrote:Frozen deaths could use a little bit of gore and blood. Oh, I wasn't expecting new graphics for it. But if you're going to do it and need some inspiration, then Painkiller's frozen deaths are pretty cool.Nash wrote:Agreed. Obviously I wasn't talking about making it exactly the same, and I don't think that is even possible. And I might have made it sound better than expected.Nash wrote:Got any videos? I can't find anything on Youtube.
But it was the most memorable ice death for me for some reason. Here's an example: https://streamable.com/e5efj

That'd be cool but would probably require individual sprites for body parts flying apart which. Possibly gets in the way of universal compatibility
