Tally is updated.

Note for mod authors: now you can embed a label with your mod ranking into your post, like this:

Code: Select all

Image

Labels will be updated with tally.

Image path would be "https://mmaulwurff.github.io/zdoom-top-labels/pngs/" and then image file name for your mod. See the list of filenames here: https://github.com/mmaulwurff/zdoom-top-labels/tree/master/pngs

Yeah, equal points is a fair measure, m8f :)

3- DoomRL Arsenal - Complex yet simple feature packed mod. It's really one of a kind here.
3 - Colorful Hell - Has plenty of beasties that are fun to fight against.
3 - Russian Overkill - Badass weapon power fantasy in it's finest
3 - Legendoom - I can't wait for this mod's update to come out, the weapon effects are neato in long mapsets.
1 - La Tailor Girl - Animu styled fanservice
2 - Final Doomer - Plenty of badass guns here

EDIT: Fixed it, can't read

EDIT 2 : Equalized the points, sorry if I change a lot of times.

Tally and labels are updated.

4thcharacter: it's OK. You can change your votes at any time, spreadsheet makes editing the votes an easy task. The only thing: it is better to make a new post, I could miss the edit.

About the ranks: HD leads by the points and Russian Overkill leads by the number of voters.

Sorry, you have to vote for at least 5 mods.

Here's a better example of voting for your own project: Not allowing it.

Point 1. I have no means to check if voter is not the author. One can create a new account to vote, or use friend's account to vote, or make somebody vote (thereby voting "through" another person). If I declare that I don't accept points when somebody votes for their own project, it won't stop the people who really wants to, they will just do it covertly.

Point 2. What is the worst thing that can happen if somebody votes for their own work? That this voter is biased and this work will receive more points than it should. But how can we know how many points the work should receive? This topic is all about opinions. We all are biased somehow. Just as well I could say "I won't accept this because voter is biased: the voter lives in the same city as the author". Or "the voter is a relative of the author" (if I could check these things).

Point 3. The voting system has point limits so one voter cannot skew the results too much.

Of course, I will not accept the vote if the voter assigns ALL of the points to his own works (if I'll be able to identify this case). This isn't listed in the rules because it is obvious. This just defeats the purpose of voting.

Sorry for my crude English. If somebody managed to understand my points, hats off to you.

Semi-apologies for being "that guy", but I've got to post some critique:
  • I'm not liking the badge concept. This "top community ranking" stuff is useful for gauging popularity, but the badges make this seem like some sort of officially-sanctioned thing.
  • Self-votes really shouldn't be a thing, and it's really not that hard to police. New-account or friend-fraud may slip through the cracks, but the vast majority of cases will be caught by other community members calling 'em out.
  • When there's a tie in rankings, numbers ought to be skipped, e.g. at the time of writing, Project MSX and Russian Overkill are tied at #2; the next place entry (currently Colorful Hell) should be #4, not #3.
