What's a good map to try bloom & other effects on?

Tried it on the doom 2 iwad and apart from things like tonemap, couldn't tell any difference. I saw a screenshot from a wad where there was a realistic glow coming from windows:

There are plenty of Doom 2 maps where you can see the bloom effect. Try map04 (The Focus), map05 (The Waste Tunnels) and many more. The bloom effect is intentionally made to be very subtle - it is meant to enhance the visuals, not rape them.

Your screenshot isn't from the built-in effects. That's from using reshade - an external tool some players like to use. I'm happy to say the normal bloom filter does NOT look like on that screenshot. :)

And portals with AO = ambient occlusion? Honestly can't see the difference with those.

There are no portals in vanilla Doom. You need a map with portals to see what that setting does.

Yeah, I've tried maps like the doomworld mega project (starting room) and the joymaps portals but can't see any difference.

Hell on the Earth Remastered. Also a good map for brightmaps as well. Link: http://www.moddb.com/mods/honte-remastered
