Excuse me? Misleading people? They're making the mod they want to make. If that's somehow offensive to you, then you might need to shift your focus elsewhere. If you don't have editing skills, there are plenty of places to learn, and if something confuses you, we're entirely willing to answer questions you have.Doomenator wrote:Not everyone has editing skills. Just give links to previous versions of the mod. And stop misleading people.

It was specifically about this.wildweasel wrote:Excuse me? Misleading people? They're making the mod they want to make. I do not care much about this mod. I have no problem to edit all what I want. But we need to think not only about those who can edit mods.
And yes, they're making the mod they want to make. It's logical to make a mod for yourself, place it on the public and do not listen to other users.

Re: Enhanced Vanilla Project (EVP) - My first Doom mod
It just really bugs me when people are so picky about little things, like decals and wanting old stuff back (like old Chaingunner sprites, which IMO it was a cheap splice of a mask). I don't really care about them too much, but I'll get those shortly.Doomenator wrote:It was specifically about this.wildweasel wrote:Excuse me? Misleading people? If you think that the little things are not important, then you really do not understand how the world works. The whole mod is a set of individual little things. No matter what you do, you should always based on the principle that spoonful of tar spoils a barrel of honey.A_D_M_E_R_A_L wrote:It just really bugs me when people are so picky about little things, like decals and wanting old stuff back (like old Chaingunner sprites, which IMO it was a cheap splice of a mask). No one is forcing you to use the mod. If you don't like it then don't play it it's pretty simple logic. No need to complain.Doomenator wrote:If you think that the little things are not important, then you really do not understand how the world works. The whole mod is a set of individual little things. Re: Enhanced Vanilla Project (EVP) - My first Doom mod
Honestly, you'd be a lot more productive by simply leaving the thread and finding a different mod that suits your needs instead of pretending to be 'holier than thou' because a mod author does things his own way. Also, telling someone that you don't care about their product and that you have no problem "editing it all you want" is preeeettty damn rude.
Onto the mod itself, I have to say from the video, the effects look very nifty! I'm digging the dark feel from the sprites and brightmaps .

I should make a new vid of the mod in its current state, now that I think about it.Pandut wrote:Honestly, you'd be a lot more productive by simply leaving the thread and finding a different mod that suits your needs instead of pretending to be 'holier than thou' because a mod author does things his own way. If you have such an issue with what OTHER people are giving you FREE OF CHARGE, out of THEIR OWN FREE TIME AT THEIR OWN COST, then perhaps you need a small vacation.Doomenator wrote:I do not care much about this mod. @ A_D_M_E_R_A_L: Don't let users such as this "dictate" to you how they think the mod should be. While yes, feedback and criticism is encouraged, do not let people like this guy make you think that they're opinion is the only right way. The only right way to make a mod is how YOU envision it - and if he has a problem with it, then he can edit it himself.
That doesn't mean you shouldn't listen to feedback - it means that YOU are the boss! YOU make the decisions. NOT him.

Re: Enhanced Vanilla Project (EVP) - My first Doom mod
Forgive my ignorance, but is the DarkDoom included the latest version? Also, it would be handy to bundle a Flashlight mod with EVP

No flashlight and DarkDoom only exists in GZD port, I noticed that the script stacks in Zand MP so I took it out.DabbingSquidward wrote:Forgive my ignorance, but is the DarkDoom included the latest version? Also, it would be handy to bundle a Flashlight mod with EVP

tried this mod on doom64, it works but there are small errors, and generally doom64 looks cool with this mod

Re: Enhanced Vanilla Project (EVP) - My first Doom mod
v18.2 (28/05/18)
Sound tweaks (no limits on footstep sounds and some firing sounds from monsters)
Decals for all projectiles (better late than never)
Minor and major HUD changes:
Starting with minor - colored text for powerup timers, interpolating ammo counters (numbers will smoothly to to a set number)
Now for the major one - the HUD in the GZDoom port is COMPLETLY ZSCRIPTED (by that I mean fully converted to ZScript) with all early mentioned minor changes + interpolating health and armor numbers
