What type of biome/environment would you guys like to see/explore in a horror game?

Ooh, now this looks like my kinda thing! It sorta looks like a mix of Silent Hill and Blood.

Definitely keeping an eye peeled for this one! c:

Something that isn't just the typical cramped hallways of an abandoned house/asylum/prison/hospital/school at 2AM that one might be used to seeing in nearly every other horror game. Make daytime scary. The Silent Hill vibe is nice with having access to a whole town and locational variance, but I'd prefer something more open and less of a linear puzzle through quasi-open environments like the SH games. Maybe something in a rural Japanese town would be interesting; rice fields, verticality and all that. Or what would Heaven look like at the end of the Apocalypse, but Satan won the war? Anyways, what I've seen of your project so far looks pretty good so I hope you're able to get past your creative block and see it through to completion.

Shit. The first map is literally an abandoned complex and underground passages. Lol. I realized how generic it is now that you pointed it out, though I do try to make up for it with some spooky events or something that will at least poke at the player's interest. Environmental story telling and all. First map is linear, Map02A I do try to slowly introduce more open ended (simple) puzzles and level design, Map02B is where it'll really take off with one giant area with a lot to do.

Speaking of rice fields, I'm actually considering that. Something about an indoor, dark rice field gives me the creep.

If you absolutely cannot wait, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to send a playable demo once I'm finished with Map02A :mrgreen:
