Re: [POLL RESULTS!] FINAL DOOMER
v1.2 damage confirmation: load up ultimate doomvisor before Final Doomer and notice the health bar on the side of the screen with a cyberdemon using both beams. It's plain as day that one beam is doing more damage somehow. My guess? The fancy maser beam is putting out more projectiles and ultimately hitting the target more than once with projectiles. What I'd do instead is painless projectiles entirely, and slap on an invisible rail attack that does the actual damage.

Nope, they fire at the exact same speed.DoomRater wrote:My guess? The fancy maser beam is putting out more projectiles and ultimately hitting the target more than once with projectiles.
It actually now does the exact opposite of that. Railguns are the problem, remember?DoomRater wrote:What I'd do instead is painless projectiles entirely, and slap on an invisible rail attack that does the actual damage.

Re: [POLL RESULTS!] FINAL DOOMER
Not really sure what to tell you then. I can confirm maser settings actually do different rates of damage in practice and I have steps to confirm reproduction, and it's a perfect example of always make sure a weapon always deals damage identically regardless of pretty settings.

Re: [POLL RESULTS!] FINAL DOOMER
Maybe we should look into the code to see if that's really happening?

Ancient Aliens weapon sprites are done, Yholl's in the process of code-inating everything up now.
Also, in light of recent discussion:

Re: [POLL RESULTS!] FINAL DOOMER
They probably used them Alien-techs to travel ahead on time and see the poll results.
EDIT: wait, if they could see which mod would win, they would see the future mod done. So...
i dunno. time travel is confusing.

Re: [POLL RESULTS!] FINAL DOOMER
It genuinely sounded like sarcasm especially since I found nothing indicating that damage on a projectile was different from damage on a rail attack. That, and I need to go back and make sure there's no damage difference between standard and OpenGL because for some reason I'm recalling one but can't verify because it's 5am and I'm gonna be tied up till at least noon.Yholl wrote:You betcha.Rozy wrote:I don't mean to insinuate anything but uh, didn't yohll say he already fixed it a few posts ago?
Edit: I guarantee it has nothing to do with 5 damage being different in each code. Though it's going to take some double IDDT to demonstrate...
Edit: screw it it's 5am let's confirm 5inati if it's going to be a meme- oh, testing 40 maser shots into a cyberdemon on standard and OpenGL yield identical output, that must have just been my mind playing tricks on me.

Re: [POLL RESULTS!] FINAL DOOMER
Or they correctly guessed from the neverending hype surrounding the wad that it'd be the most nominated.GAA1992 wrote:They probably used them Alien-techs to travel ahead on time and see the poll results.
