One simple way you could replace the pistol is to create a new player class inherited from your original player class and put it into a filter folder for hexen. The directory should look like this, for example:

Filter/Game-Hexen/filename.txt
If you're doing a generic script that checks for whatever game you're playing, then Guncaster has the answer. This is what it does...

That's great! The less ACS to me (unless we're talking about game options, and i'm outta ideas for them), the better. The filter option seems great. I just don't know if it works on Zandronum. But consider it done if it works.

Guys, i just came here to update Flakes again, and now we have many many features, and more to come. I'm just outta time for now.

As i told you guys, 2.2 is here, although it has another game to the compatibility list (Adventures of Square), it has more visual changes than gameplaying things.

25/04

- New machinegun sprites
- New SSG sprites
- New SSG sounds
- New SG sounds.
- New Haste sound.
- New Chaingun pickup sprites
- New environment sphere sprites
- New 3D model pickup for grenade by Zanieon!
- Now compatible with Adventures of Square!
- Old armor icon on statusbar restored.

EDIT: Besides i probably forgot something on changelog, i added new screenies to the OP.

Loving this mod so far, feels sorta like an arcade-y meta doom , love the Quake stuff, and the SSG feels soooooo good.

I haven't got to trying this one yet, but its definitely downloaded and something I'm excited to try. While I love the overabundance of things to try, I also feel sad that I only have so little time to try them. Still, I appreciate the new release and the continued improvement this mod gets.

Ketchup has a small problem and i believe there's a patch for it. Try with V4, and if it doesn't work, you could try either Droplets by SidDoyle or Nashgore by Nash :)

This is AWESOME! I like to find weapons that has a little suprises. this is good ones especially when I play in other WADS. Woo!
