It's because of the order of files, you have to load D4D.pk3 first. Or even better: just use the .bat file.eyesoftheworld94 wrote:I love the screenshots and all the updates, but when i tried to play this with the most recent version of GzDoom it gave me this error:

I'm confused...WHY aren't these amazing addons just integrated into the main MOD?

You know what's great? I think D4D is now one of the few mods conceiving sub-projects, as occurred with Brutal Doom. This is very cool if you ask me. It shows how the mod is getting bigger.Skrell wrote:I'm confused...WHY aren't these amazing addons just integrated into the main MOD?

I agree; however, it does make it confusing to know which addons to run for the best Doom2016 experience and introduces eventual incompatibilities. Something like this addon looks like it simply makes everything in the original D4D better and it would be great to see the 2 merged and working together.Phobos867 wrote:You know what's great? I know, about patching add-ons, we are aware of it and it's something we would like to see as well! but I think it's better not to promise anything yet.Skrell wrote:it would be great to see the 2 merged and working together.
On the bright side, at least now you have lots of choices to play!

If anything, a lot of the stuff in this pack should be directly ported over to the base mod if you ask me.
The monster sprites and weapon skins in particular, since they're direct improvements of the stuff D4D has.

I think the Arachnotron doesn't need to be replaced by the Gore nest, only the Pain Elemental, also the Arachnotron needs his remastered custom red ball cannon.
Maybe..
& Fatsos
And the drone dead body it's kinda big.

Well, don't forget that you can choose to not replace Arachnotrons. It's better when the player have control about it. For example, I like to play only with the original Doom 4 monsters. For me, It feels more faithful and enhances the D4 experience, so I disable Arachnotrons and Pain Elementals by default. But other people may like to play with them, so they can choose what fits them best.NullWire wrote:I think the Arachnotron doesn't need to be replaced by the Gore nest, only the Pain Elemental
Besides, the way how Arachnotrons are placed on maps tends to work really well with Gore Nests (judging from my experience).
