Oh okay, I wasn't familiar with the acronym. To be honest, the standalone game version looks like a considerable downgrade from the original.ibm5155 wrote:This is WDI

It also looks extremely alpha, so that's probably to be expected.

Aye. The pre-alpha prototype was put together over 100 days in an engine that is changing all the time - The goal was to get the core mechanics in and see how people took to the new engine.Arctangent wrote:It also looks extremely alpha, so that's probably to be expected.
Not to mention, every group was met by this screen.
Thankfully, it was pretty successful with the groups we sat down. Some of them playing more than just a few rounds.
We're taking a month hiatus before digging in again and working towards a final product.
UE4 has been a bit frustrating, but I have to say that it's kind of liberating. Especially the lighting engine - which is simply divine.
That said: I'm more than happy to answer any questions regarding WhoDunIt.

... Well hey Conflagrated, it's been a while. "Gordon Freeman is a Jackass" still makes me laugh.
Extremely pre-alpha or no, it's a lot of work for 3 people and I'm pretty impressed you guys are making it work. (I may be biased toward first-person full-body models... Fully animated actions would be about the coolest thing.)

Right now we're using some very basic animations, making the current camera a little strange - As we improve and replace the entire set, the current player camera we're using is going to feel really good.NeuralStunner wrote:

Best example of it right now is the landing and medkit placement animations. They feel great and really add a sense of space in the world.
... also it means we only need to model and animate once!
