The sprite in MetaDoom is the one I made for DUMP3, and it was my first original weapon sprite. I'm sure improvements could be made, but I like to think I kept reasonably close to the original.
I won't be dramatically changing the design to make it COOL AND EVIL AND 2 BRUTAL but I'm pretty sure it'd be easy to add cvars to disable "alternative" weapons and enemies spawning, so you only have the traditional weapons against the traditional Doom 2 enemies.

Glad to hear it ^^ Just don't make a boss that can be killed only by the soul cube ! That's just awful bad design, noone in the professional game industry would ever have that idea right? Bad design indeed, it should not be. And glad doom 4 came out and you actually can kill bosses with everything you have. Also other games except doom 3 as well.
So i don't think you should kill them with only soul cube, but it'll deal the great damage to them! Just my thought.

Don't worry. No monster will require the Soul Cube to be killed. The design I currently have written up, it'll basically take on the "panic weapon" role that the Chainsaw and BFG do in the new game.

I just basically replaced the first frame of the shotgun, and I am half tempted into making the muzzleflash a water spray.
