Whats your thoughts about this new Pokémon Go app?

If it's not ZDoom, it goes here.

Guess I should blame Ninantic for not even bothering to update their own page, which was the first thing I searched for checking said complaint (and after reading a news article 5 days old saying it was added, you'd think they'd be more timely about updating their official page.)

You will probably try to argue me to death on this, but that is an odd way to word that.

Maybe to be more clear you should've said "the situation for his complaint has been solved?" Because you were very confusing with the way you've worded your previous statements to it.

I understood what he said about it but it's clear the complaint still does exist since Ninantic isn't updating their page, which will result in confused and conflicting statements like mine being thrown around.

Awareness of surroundings is not, and never will be, the developers fault. If you're incapable of looking where you are, that's your own damn fault.
If your place is dangerous that there's a decent amount of possible muggers and such and there's a risk of you having a gunpoint over your phone but you want to play the game, it would be an inconvenience.

If you're implying that there are ways to make the app safer to use under those circumstances, please mention them.

There's not much except maybe play in groups or either take the risks.

or maybe just not play the game in risky areas. there's probably areas you can walk around playing the game and not risk getting mugged, shot, ran over by trains, of falling off a cliff. and if you're going over the street, you shouldn't cross it unless you've looked for traffic to the left and right. you know, like your parents told you when you were a little kid, presumably?

Playing in groups mostly takes care of that problem unless having someone to tag along with you isn't an option. For me, I wouldn't be playing since hiding your phone in your pocket here most of the times is a wise choice. The muggers here can get really crafty at some points. And not to mention the heat here when it's sunny is just damn cruel. Maybe inside malls and campuses.

I'll take GaijanGoombah's video on it happily:

(and for the record, the support page STILL lists intel phones as not supported. It's been a week now.)

Pros: Gets people outside and walking, interacting and out in the sun.
Cons: Human stupidity is how we get things like traffic accidents and people trespassing where they're not supposed to be.

On Facebook just now that someone found another dead body in New Hampshire while he was playing the Pokémon go app.

Is this game app teaching us know to find Pokemon or dead bodies :?:

It's called statistical inevitability. Unfound bodies are going to normally be in places that people are normally not going to be, either as dumping places or just places where people end up unseen/unheard. However, now you have an application that requires you you wander around in inhuman paths to random locations, so now all these places that normally go unnoticed are going to be noticed due to random probability, rather than just human probability.
The fact that this is surprising to anybody is in itself surprising to people who actually understand human behaviour and probability.

if anything, isn't it just good that these corpses are found, so families knows where their missing family members actually are? (well, they wouldn't be happy about it at all, granted, but they'd still know where they are, so they could finally grieve.)
