Out of curiosity, does the protagonist have a name? Also, what kind of animal is he supposed to be?

Don't know about his name, but I'm pretty sure he's a hedgehog!

Haha, I guess someone took a look at the intro sprites inside the wad? Impressive, never expected anyone to notice that, considering I only used the first four letters! :D

Yeah, I never bothered to come up with the name for a hero, but if I would have given the girlfriend a name, it would have been just the name that Almonds found. :D
Dunno why, it was the first one I came up with and I found it kind of fitting. :D

Looks awesome :D
Played through the first levels and I can't quit playing this mod, the 90s styled arts are doing a great job :D

I swear I've seen this before...
Didn't you post a WIP preview of this some years ago? I think you used Rigby as a placeholder for the mugshot?

edit: oh, duh, i can just check your post history to confirm.
edit 2: confirmed. wow, that was like 4 years ago. looks to have been worth the weightwait, though. I'll have to give this a shot once i clear through the rest of my backlog. (There are SO MANY things I need to get around to playing aaaaaaaaaaaa :stuppor: )

edit 3:

@KilerZolika
Thanks, thats so great to hear! :3:

@Ethril
Thats right, I started the project sometime in 2012, worked on it for a while and then never touched it again from 2013 to 2015. However, this year I found it and randomly decided to finish it. So you could say the build time was "just" a few months... spaced out over four years. xD
:P So awesome to see that you seem to remember that!

I still have an ancient alpha version of the game from 2012... things looked hella different then. Different enemy sprites and music, missing stuff and redesigned maps. :3:

Interesting, i think it's suppose to be shown when he detected the player. But in the game, it doesn't. I'm guessing it's a dummy data if it was not planned to be added!

Yes, that file was supposed to be shown when the watcher guy detects the player. :D
I didn`t get it to work in-game, and after a while I totally forgot about it.
There is also some unused music and a few other textures I never used (or used in earlier versions) in the wad file.

Hey :D

Uploaded the soundtrack onto my YT channel, in case anyone wants to listen to it xD

Aaand I kind of need help with two things here...

Even if it`s really shunned upon in this community, I would love to make this game run as standalone file somehow. So that people who have no idea how to use the original IWADs can still download and play it. And yes, I know why that is a bad idea in some cases.
I already tried to alter some stuff in the ZDoom pk3 file, but it still is really hacky.
Could someone here help me with that somehow? Would be so awesome. :3

Another thing, I have no idea how to upload stuff to Idgames the right way. I read some stuff about it, but it sounds so complicated o_O
Could need some help here too... :3

You can either bundle your wad file with FreeDoom.wad (which is pretty much made for this purpose), or you could include all the required lumps in ShadowOfTheWoolBall.wad and run it with the "-iwad" command line parameter. That is, until the nice people maintaining zdoom decide to include your game in the internal iwad list like with Adventures of Square.

P.S. this game is amazing.
