You'd be surprised; they get most of the armaments right at least...Vaecrius wrote:Touché, though there's something about this vid that really, really doesn't capture the actual look of WWI so much as some modern gamers were told about trenches, mustard gas and flamethrowers and told to extrapolate the rest...

It's more the way the people move, combined with the cinematography (lots of chunks of slow-mo action porn versus all the historical accounts of "wait and do fuck all and slowly starve physically and spiritually for weeks, then five hours of CHAOS UTTER FUCKING CHAOS when you least expect it"). Like, I dunno, they just "feel" like modern video game characters with the old gear rather than actual people from that era.

Graphics look good, I'm a single player whore, don't care for multiplayer, should I get this game or wait for it to go for $4.99?

There is a standalone Wolf4SDL based World War 1 mod called "Unsung":

It's actually not bad until you reach a boss.maseter wrote:There is a standalone Wolf4SDL based World War 1 mod called "Unsung":

I love Battlefield and I think WW1 is a interesting setting too little explored in movies and games, it was a strange mix of old and modern. I'm certainly curious to see how this one will turns out.
I'm also betting the next game will either be about WW2 or a sequel to BF 2142 (due to hints on the latest game).

I would buy 12 copies if they made a sequel to 2142.
