Going through doing the shotgun sprite animations now. The HE shot though still won't have sprites.

Ok so i've done something with the shotgun sprites.
There still is a lot of work needed on the HE round (which I've borrowed Sprites and Code from ProejectAngel)
It's current charge time is about 7 seconds.
I'll also fix up the firing animation as well, it's still feeling sloppy, but this is my first time ever animating a gun so give me some slack.

Have fun. When the HE zoom sprites are done (if there ever are any) I'll update it for that, and I still want the HE round charging warning to be a HUD thing rather than a message (preferably instead an "alt charge" bar).
I was using this code to make my own shotgun, and will continue to do so, so when I update that gun, I'll update the code that applies to this one as well.
I'll also tweak the recharge rate on the HE round tomorrow and also make it so when you pick it up for the first time you'll have the HE round ready to go instead of needing to wait for it to charge (still got to figure that one out).

Out of curiousity, why no hands on the SSG? In the game, you can see Doomguy's left hand supporting it, but the sprite here looks sorta like it's just floating there.

There are several reasons why the super shotgun has no hands. Firstly because it was the first weapon that I created a long while ago before I even decided to get this project going. It was based on the design of the new DOOM shotgun, but there wasn't really enough decent footage decent available of the new game that I could use at the time it was made. Besides, I had already gone through the effort to animate this one which I think is more than adequate. I have seen alot of weapon mods where a sawn-off shotgun is wielded with just on hand, which is why I did it that way as well. I would also say that I have seen a number of comments saying these weapons aren't 'exactly' like the ones in DOOM - which is correct, they are not supposed to be the same. They are supposed to exhibit a resemblance to the new weapons (if you recall the old Doom 3 weapon mod - the shotgun looked nothing like the one in DOOM 3 - although it was based on the alpha model of the shotgun and it was well made). I cannot perfectly recreate each weapon because I don't want to rip the sprites directly from the game. Certain things have to be considered (lighting, texture etc) in order to give the weapons their own character, especially with only a very small amount of pixels to work with.
At this time, I have no plans on making different sprites for each so called weapon attachment featured in the new DOOM. I have already seen a number of impressive edits of my sprites where people had added their own attachments, so if you want to do that then by all means. Maybe in the future if somebody wants to create a mod that attempts to meticulously replicate the new weapon behavior then I will oblige - for the time being these are meant as a standalone replacement for the default DOOM weapons. After all, this is a work in progress.
On another note I am currently unable to open any sort of .wad or .pk3 file that people have made or have asked me to look at it personally because SLADE is still broken on my OS (I have no idea what the hell is going on with it).

I guess I might aswell post this here. I made a pretty hacky "Glory Kill" system with decorate. I was gonna implement this on a Doom 4 weapons mod me and Trusty McLegit were gonna work on, but he said he can't work on it anymore, and I myself have like 2000 unfinished projects on queue, so I guess I better post it here, so someone else can make better use of it. This here is only a proof of concept, so only the Zombies and Imps can be Glory Killed.

These sprites look great, my only complaint is the Super Shotgun. It's not really matching up with the DOOM 2016 one. It looks more like an darker, angled vanilla SSG.
