I think what he meant was that there was one classic Doom level 'stub' hidden in each Doom 4 mission. Each 'stub' unlocks the full version of the classic map accessible from the menu.

So however many Doom 4 missions there are - 6, 8, 12, whatever ... that's how many classic maps we can unlock.

@Bren I'd say at least 15, mayber 17 or around 20 IIRC from reading those leaks a while ago.
Spoiler:
Strangely enough, there's no dynamic lighting or shadows in the E1M2 stub, which is ironic because that was the most definitive part of the original level. There were also some flipped textures such as the STARTAN texture.

Is it a bit strange that the ZDoom screenshot looks better than the Doom (4) one?

Quite ironic actually, but then again it's just meant to be a small homage more than anything else.

At least the classic Doom levels are better proportioned than the oversized Wolf3D levels in TOB.

Or the Wolfenstein levels from Doom II. Using 128x128 versions of the Wolf 3D textures for those levels was a bit strange and made the levels really huge in comparison to their original counterparts.

What would make a Crazy awesome Easter Egg is if They had a portal to a Level from Wolfenstien TNO and had Nazis and Robots and had unique Execution Animations for both of them and had the lazerkraftwork as an Unlockable gun in the game. That is Wishfull thinking i know but that would be soo WILD if it were a real thing.

That's a very tall order for an Easter egg, and I don't think id would bother to make it, even as DLC. Besides, DOOM already has the Gauss Cannon (or Static Rifle or Vortex Rifle in MP) to fill the role of the LaserKraftWerk.

A bump to show the new launch trailer. I kinda liked the old music in the earlier version though.

System requirements are pretty much the same as for the beta, although you'll need 55 gigs.

You saw the Archvile yes, but the other one was the Spider mastermind, not Arachnotron. I can confirm because the models are present in the leaked closed alpha's files

meh, what's wrong with being a LITTLE hyped over the next installment to one of your favorite video-game franchises? you can be a little excited and not have the world end if the end-product goes to shit. there's no need to be a bitter cynical about everything new that's going to be released, it just makes you look like a sour individual.
