I know, there are many derivative words, I was referring to the on-line dictionary, which is not bound to paper and tomes. They could really come up with a more useful definition. For "ostensibility", the definition should be the "the state of feigning the appearance, characteristics and properties of something". I learn about this stuff every day in the university, and well, to tell the honest, defining "ostensibility" as "the state of being ostensible" would be rewarded with a big fat F, and a mocking remark: "Why thank you, Captain Obvious, you saved the day!"

free dictionaries come with free quality...

Heh, you got a point :D I should have known!
Well never mind, at least they include a hyperlink to the stem word.

sorry these words are in icelandic
but sound very interesting when pronounced correctly
meh sometimes the english tongue can be difficult to pronounce but take a look at icelandic
ð is pronounced th as in the
þ is pronounced th as in think
