Re: Duke it Out in DOOM (headshot!)
That was really uncalled for.
Anyways, last-minute replacement (1.4b) ditching the burst-fire pistol, replacing the lengthy imp headshot and adding one for the demon.

cem26, the author's already said he works exclusively in 3DGE, and we've already had this argument several times across all of his threads. I'm disappointed in you.cem26 wrote:YEP, i did it

Re: Duke it Out in DOOM (headshot!)
Can we make whining about 3DGE mods not being on (G)ZDoom a warnable/(temporarily) bannable offense? Making a mod for fun just to have a bunch of idiots yell at you for not making it for ZDoom because they are too lazy to download *gasp* another source port to play those mods sounds pretty discouraging to me. I'd have given up by now, since I'm sure every last 3DGE thread has had this problem by now.

great job, very glad EDGE is back from the dead, was doing DDF before I even knew what Decorate was. This mod looks sweet

Yes, because it's completely unreasonable for people to expect a thread for a mod on a forum relating to Zdoom would actually be playable on Zdoom.TheMightyHeracross wrote:Things and stuff.
I mean, I get that it's annoying and the like... but it's the ZDOOM forums. It's kind of expected, ya know?

It's worth mentioning that it's one of the few remaining DOOM-forums still wildly active.
Thank you.BFG wrote:great job, very glad EDGE is back from the dead, was doing DDF before I even knew what Decorate was. This mod looks sweet

Re: Duke it Out in DOOM (headshot!)
Pretty much all I ask is that things intended for ports other than ZDoom be tagged as such in the topic title. (I've fixed that here, btw.)iSpook wrote:Yes, because it's completely unreasonable for people to expect a thread for a mod on a forum relating to Zdoom would actually be playable on Zdoom.

Project Posting Guidelines, by the way, wrote:10) The Projects forum is NOT just for ZDoom-specific projects! We'll accept threads for damn near anything Doom-engine-related, and that includes projects for Zandronum, PRBoom+, vanilla Doom, Heretic, Strife, Doom 64 or even Vavoom if you want to go that route. All we ask is that you make it clear what your project needs to run; people don't tend to guess correctly when faced with a project that "won't start."

If you are referring to the arms looking un-muscular given Dukes otherwise meaty build, I had the choice of two sets of suitable punching sprites and trust me these are the better of the two. I think they're ok.

Nah. The animation makes the punches look meek. Weak.

it really makes Duke seem more like a tough guy when he's fighting with his fists, I think he'd prefer to go hands on with his foes.

Re: [3DGE] Duke it Out in DOOM (headshot!)
This is a pretty fun mod. The enemies can really do some serious damage on you which makes the game a little tougher than normal, even on Hurt Me Plenty difficulty. The railgun seems pretty underwhelming though. Sure it does a lot of damage, but I feel like it's not flashy enough. Maybe it's because I usually see that gun have flashier effects in other ZDoom mods, I dunno.

Don't know what else to do with it, any ideas are welcomed.lizardcommando wrote:The railgun seems pretty underwhelming though. Sure it does a lot of damage, but I feel like it's not flashy enough. Maybe it's because I usually see that gun have flashier effects in other ZDoom mods, I dunno.
I'll give it some thought and add it to my to-do list.
